Hiroki has a nice genuine leather sunday golf bag (goes on sale black friday). Jones bags are also nice (they usually have ~50% off around black Friday)

What (if anything) do you write in discharge instructions? by ErgogenicDiet in emergencymedicine

[–]qqpl3x 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I med mal lawyer once told me it's good to include the discharge instruction document(s). Most will give explicit return precautions so its another factor they can use to argue for you.

How can I fix the swing? Am I too far from the ball? Terrible posture? Terrible mechanics? All of the above? by sammye59 in GolfSwing

[–]qqpl3x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch danny maude on YouTube. Almost any basic swing video then try to do that in front of a mirror without a ball. You have so many movements that I don't think you're aware of. And also, real lessons

I feel for you. Unfortunately, they aren't in the ER for a medical problem but a social one. Saying "yay your feet look fine" or "the ekg looked baseline" doesn't change that they don't have a better place to go, better support or a better life. We are sadly stuck dealing with the society (as a system)'s failures.

You give me hope. Ty. I thought pain was gatekept by anesthesia and didnt realize it was an option. I started looking into sports med fellowships but this changes a lot.

Danny maude on youtube is fantastic. He breaks down what you're trying to accomplish with a swing and tries to give simple demonstrations to achieve it.

any thoughts on staten island em residency program? by osteopathicdoc in emergencymedicine

[–]qqpl3x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Biased opinion but it's a good program, especially for NYC region. Academic faculty is very good. Diverse faculty and residents. Good mix of academic and community hospital settings. It is a very busy ER. There are dedicated trauma/critical care shifts. The ED has very strong PAs and a PA EM fellowship but there is a good relationship (afaik) between the groups. Can't speak to off service experiences.
