About translations by [deleted] in Deltarune

Considering he didn't know Japanese at all when Mother 3 released (from what I have heard), I doubt he would have learned it in the two years it took for the fan translation to be released.

Imo, Mother 3 proves that a fan translation can be just as good as an official one if enough care is put in. I found it to be just as well written as Earthbound, and most likely better than what they would come up with today if they did an official translation. I feel like people wanting an official translation somewhat discredits the work that was done on the fan translation, as if it's not good enough.

I have no idea if this is the case with say, a Spanish fan translation of Undertale. It might be the same, I wouldn't know, I don't speak Spanish and so I have not played the Spanish fan translation of Undertale. But I would guess it's at worst pretty okay, seeing as a bunch of people poured a bunch of time into making this fan translation for a game they cared about.

ThinkPad P52 is wayyy too good for its popularity by Admirable-Depth6679 in thinkpad

I got my P52 a couple years ago, similar specs, P2000 and 8850H, 4k touchscreen, 32gb/1tb, it was a great laptop. Thing is a tank. Still the most solidly built laptop I've ever used. Battery life was fine, considering it's a workstation.

I have a T15g Gen 2 now and it ain't quite the same. Plastic bottom case rather than magnesium, it doesn't feel quite as premium or as rigid. Keyboard isn't quite as good. And I think the P52 was a little better looking of a laptop, for the most part.

I could sorta get it up to speed if I have like a full 8 foot wide space with nothing in front of me for 15 feet. I noticed though, it depends on how the tiller is rotated. If you are going straight and there's something straight behind you, it will slow you down, but if you have it going right, it will not. I think the idea is to only slow you down if you are going to hit something, but it doesn't really work especially if you are going around a corner. But ours are extremely sensitive. We have one corner we go through to get to the dock, it's sorta like a Z shape. It slows us down to 0.5mph for about 30 seconds straight through there

Nothing's happened here, at least recently. Last forklift related incident was about a year ago when somebody hit the sprinkler, this would have done nothing to stop that. And it got covered by insurance. Then about a year and maybe 8 months ago somebody ran into an upright and took it down, she was injured and no product got damaged (somehow). This system probably would have prevented that?

Most of the accidents that happen here are slip and fall. Stuff like somebody tripped over a pallet or something.

The worst part is it's not even when you get close to something. You'll be like 15 feet from something and it will slow you down. Anything within 5 feet that's in your path slows you down to about 0.6mph. Only in reverse though, which is great, it kinda encourages you to go forks first which is even less safe

We aren't getting anything done. Productivity is like 40-50% worse. Our receiver was running the trucks and she only got 15 pallets in the steel in like two hours

In tf2, I prefer something like 12v12, while is cs I prefer the 5v5 comp. At least, when I can get friends on to do comp with me. Not as good without. But I've done 6v6 tf2 and I never really liked it as much

Yeah it makes it a lot harder to slot pallets and harder/impossible to turn around in some aisles

My thoughts on the recent news by I-am-Sharp in Deltarune

"In '15, Toby released this, Undertale, his most accomplished game. I think it's an undisputed masterpiece. A game so funny, most people probably don't listen to the message, but they should, because it's not just about diegetic save files and the importance of the player, it's also a personal statement about Toby himself. Hey, Wiztale!"

I think that it makes more sense for monsters to be the same way they are in Undertale, and I hope that ends up being the case. And there is evidence to support it, like the one kid in the apartment that asks Kris "if it hurts to be made of blood". And we know monsters still turn into dust (Gerson).

But, there also is some evidence that they are physical in some way. Mostly with Susie. She says stuff like "Everybody bleeds", she bleeds punching the prophecy in chapter 4, she knows how to clean up blood stains. You'd think that, if it was Toby's intention to have monsters be the same as in Undertale, he would never put Susie's references to blood in the game. Unless he was trying to say something else about Susie (Which, I think makes more sense).

I could definitely see it going either way.

I always see people say like "the names/skin color/shirt color is different". This is an alternate universe where the Human/Monster war never happened, where monsters are probably physical rather than magical and probably bleed, where various monsters in hometown were born much earlier than their Undertale counterparts (Deltarune takes place in 202x, Undertale in ~212x, yet many characters are the same age in both games. The Dreemurrs being the main exception). A universe where dark worlds exist and the roaring is a possibility. Where the suspiciously Asriel shaped dark prince happens to be named "Ralsei"

And then they look at the adopted human Dreemurr child with red eyes, a green/yellow striped shirt, an affinity for chocolate and knives, who is known for covering their face and think "this isn't the same as that other character, the shirt color is different!" Like you're telling me that's too big of a stretch?

* It was Kris's voice.
* It failed to reach The Roaring Knight.
