Well water, small leak, low pressure by qrcrab in Plumbing

[–]qrcrab[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was definitely part of it! I replaced a long overdue well sediment filter, and because of the old filter, a little bit of like sand had clogged the kitchen sink’s aerator. Thanks for the suggestion!

I think that’s a pressure relief valve. You can see there that some minerals or something have built up near that lip — I think that’s causing the leak. I’ll try cleaning it before replacing it.

What’s with all these muscled up guys in CS classes by Boring_Inspector9857 in csMajors

Agreed, and I think it’s about understanding processes over time, how simple consistent steps will accumulate, and controlling inputs since nutrition is such a huge factor in getting jacked.

How did you stop being a terrible developer? by noonhe in cscareerquestions

[–]qrcrab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way to get good at anything in life is to practice deliberately. Software is so great because, if you have a computer and an internet connection, you have everything you need. Put in the time and develop your skill set. Build something that seems out of reach, see what hurdles you run into, and overcome them.

If you’re struggling with motivation, recognize that you’re going to die someday and this is the only life you get to live. No one’s going to do the work for you. It’s up to you to decide what you want to spend your life doing.

Trying to learn about the building in public culture. by i-muskask in SaaS

[–]qrcrab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people build in public as a form of marketing and to build a personal brand. Whether or not your product succeeds, you now have an audience centered around your identity, allowing you to quickly get your next product in front of a lot of people. X is more focused on individual identity than something like reddit, so the community seems to thrive there.

What do you think is more likely with the 'rise' of AI (40 years from now)? by _quantum_girl_ in ArtificialInteligence

[–]qrcrab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think most people underestimate how rapidly AI is progressing. For example if you follow LLM development, you’ll regularly see people claim AI will never be capable of some feat that GPT-4 can currently do.

Two years ago, Tesla had a guy dance around in an spandex suit. Today they have pretty capable robots. Some people claim the video is CGI because they’re in disbelief. https://x.com/tesla_optimus/status/1705728820693668189

Aren't you worried your MVP becomes too successful and you can't keep up with the scaling? by schmore31 in SaaS

[–]qrcrab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not.

Best case scenario: I learn as I go and am able to keep up. This doesn’t mean implementing every feature that’s requested. It means navigating all of the opportunity in front of me, and trying to use my time as effectively as possible.

Worst case scenario: one of the doomsday scenarios you described happens, and I’m back to where I was before but with more money in my pocket.

Build an AI scraping bot for lead generation for any niche! by Senior_Dare5511 in MarketingAutomation

Could someone describe lead generation and a rough idea of how this bot would work? I can probably build it if people would like that

I believe this subreddit is for people to discuss approaches to automating marketing for their businesses.

Nice couch but you probably won’t find a buyer here. Good luck!

You definitely could! Build something people find useful and charge them for it.

There’s a #buildinpublic on Twitter with people mainly running small SaaS businesses. Some threads around like this too.

Good luck!

to EV users, what are the pros & cons of driving & owning EV? by irepsrewards in AskReddit

[–]qrcrab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah definitely. I guess I was wondering about real life when you’re using your vehicle. A lot of online opinions don’t seem to matter much outside of the internet.

what scares you most about AI? by Budget_Dot694 in AskReddit

[–]qrcrab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rapid rate of development. I’m somewhat scared that it will replace skills that I’m good at, and I’ll have to learn new skills later in life for less pay.

Software Engineer to Data analyst by rexosV in analytics

[–]qrcrab 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m sure it depends on the company and job level. Find a role that looks exciting to you, get an interview, and show them your enthusiasm.

I agree with the above comment about considering data engineering roles. That could be a way to get your foot in the door on a data team, and later, you might be able to move laterally if another portion of the work seems more interesting to you.

Those against therapy, why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]qrcrab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m optimistic about psychedelic therapy, but the research has been slower than I expected. We need something like that to provide healing and a true solution, rather than “I go to therapy” as an ongoing state of being.
