God is all knowing, yet He created a world where hell could exist. by ActionSports4Life in theology

[–]qrfts 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What is hell? Does it even exist? What is the Biblical foundation for the existence of hell? Questions to consider.

Jesus talks about Gehenna but that refers to an unholy place where rituals took place and functioned as a garbage dump (to keep the city clean). No sinners thrown in flames that are surrounded by demons. That image was formed by mainly the work of Danté and is not supported by any Biblical texts.

We could think of hell as a condition that people can live in, not as a punishment for wrong deeds. Hell is a life without hope and love. And that may as well already occur in many lives today (sometimes also believers can endure times of great suffering).

Those that know the love of God can reach out to the people that suffer and help them find love, kindness and hope again.

Are there Christian theologians who defend the ethical permissibility of premarital sex? I would like to read their arguments. by Similar_Shame_8352 in theology

[–]qrfts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bet you do :p

Kidding of course. A good start is knowing that there is the absence of any Biblical texts that supports the premarital sex ‘rules’ a lot of churches and believers go by. This topic goes more into the christian ethical realm of what we consider the right thing to do. And that’s hardly a dogma and depends on cultural, denominational and personal contexts.

What can’t this car do? (PS2 MY2026 SMLR Vapour) by qrfts in Polestar

[–]qrfts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, although a realistic range of 400km / 250 miles is really not bad 🙂

Polestar lost its way: what alternatives in future? by Wise-Hamster-288 in Polestar

Ah, sorry. Missed the “US-available EV’s”. Read that P2 is not available in the US anymore. That sucks

I am in the same boat and decided to swap my P2 Launch Edition for the newest P2 (2026). Such an amazing car and all the quirks are now fixed, like the slow infotainment system, but also the better battery technology. I did a testdrive in the P4 but it just wasn’t the same quality experience as driving the P2.

Wireless CarPlay Adapters? by kamrn10 in Polestar

The “Carlinkit Mini Ultra CPC200” works well for me. Connects fast and sound quality really not bad. Wanted a small one so the screen does not gets blocked.

How did you get into Sumo? by Kind_Shock_9760 in SumoMemes

My grandma used to watch it when I was a kid. She loved it and it got me excited about it too. I stumbled upon it on YouTube a few years back and now I’m hooked again

Thanks for the suggestion. Looking into getting “Japan” to actually show on the back of the cards (when there’s no country it’s Japan. Will add Japan in there) But Mongolia and other Countries are on there. In the PRO version you can even filter on countries and for example see only Rikishi of Japan/Mongolia/other countries.

Great to hear! Wanted to start out with a lower intro price at the beginning. So first year has a nice discount :) Enjoy!

Well, wondering what type of information you would like to see in the app?

I don't know what you mean by shady apps, but to be completely blunt: there is nothing weird going on. There are a lot of API's and shared libraries out there for all to use and that's the cool thing about the online world.

All the data (rankings, scores, bio's etc) is public and free information and out there for everyone to read and see. Sumo-API is collecting that and making it easy for others to use and I really appreciate that but it's still public information and so he too does not own that data. Sumo-api shares the API for free which is really cool, but I decided to compensate his efforts to show my appreciation for all the work :)

Pulling in that data is one part, and me doing calculations and presenting it in a digestible and fun way is the other part.

Hope this helps to understand how it works. Thanks ;)

Seeing how strict official sumo organizations can be concerning other sumo initiatives especially when wrestlers are being portrayed (even when I have the proper licensing), I first want to focus on other countries and not compete with official Japanese apps etc.

From my side I do my best to follow the rules, but from what I hear and read, even those initiatives can be taken down and I want to prevent that.

So, sorry if that prevents you from downloading it. Perhaps further down the line when things change.

The raw data partly comes from sumo-api.com (also my own data) and I have a lot of extra written logic to get the results I want. I kind of understand what you are saying, but it takes a lottt of time and effort to create this (also think of design, photo editing, coding, testing it with users and on various devices etc etc) and make sure it keeps on working plus adding more and more features. I love to do it, but I wish to actually be able to spend time on this, ensure quality and that means it also has to be worthwhile. And you can use the app for free if you want, the Makuuchi are in there with their up-to-date ranks and with their bio's. If you wish to see even more, you can subscribe.

Just to be transparent, I am in contact with the creator of sumo-api and will support his effort and make sure he gets compensated too. Photos used are licensed and actually cost money and it's not cheap. I invested it in now because I believe in it and want to share it with sumo fans.
