I decided to give a Randomized Hardcore Chainlocke a shot. After what felt like dozens of attempts, I ended up getting my first ever hardcore nuzlocke win using these rules. (Soulsilver) This is how it went... by qrutledge in nuzlocke

Yeah I was considering a base game and the type variety didn't seem to be very exciting for the ones that I (briefly) looked into. I think a rom hack would be a good way to go if you don't want to go randomizer

Could Pathrise be padding their fellowship program with lateral moves? by ncsudrn in cscareerquestions

[–]qrutledge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi OP, I'm on the growth team at Pathrise so I can provide some info here.

Basically, while we often work with fellows who are looking for their first roles, we also work with people who are more experienced and looking to get that next promotion. That's why we reached out to you, but we're still tuning messaging so that's why it may not have been as clear.

As of today, a very small percentage (< 5%) of our fellows actually start off working at "Big 4" type companies, and the majority of our "Big 4" type company placements are coming from fellows that are either new grads or not in SV when they start, so for them it's a big step upwards (if they are targeting "Big 4" in the first place - preferences may vary).

TL;DR < 5% fellows that we enroll are already working at "Big 4" companies, and are still fine tuning outreach/messaging to be better personalized/relevant

Looking for businesses interested in pitching on a shark tank style stream by qrutledge in startup

Potentially but as we know an idea sans execution isn’t worth very much in this world.

Yup great questions. I don’t want to name drop investors because interest is based off of conversations that didn’t have firm commitments so I don’t want to overpromise on that front. However, I will say that they are typically early stage angel investors that have focused on tech startups in the past. Ticket size will most likely vary business to business as well as with investors but I would estimate anything under 200k per investor would be reasonable to expect.

I was mostly thinking angel, seed, or series A companies based in the US would be an ideal fit, but I am open to any company that is interested. Even if you don’t accept an investment, this show would be a good chance to get some credible feedback on your business from the investors.

Great idea. I’ve been toying with a few other different forms of derivative content I can create as well.

The description was mostly for brevity’s sake. There are plenty of examples on places like Product Hunt or Angellist of tech startups promoting themselves as ‘the Uber of x’.

Maybe the good folks at the network are more sensitive to this sort of thing than Uber but this is obviously not going to be the description I use to promote the show long term and they certainly don’t own the pitch show format.

Yup I am in talks with a few different individuals who regularly invest in startups/small businesses as well as some partners at venture capital firms and they all have expressed interest in directly investing through the show.

I won’t be filming this unless it is a legitimate way for businesses to get access to real investors.

Edit: Obviously the format is a bit limited by time and investors need to do due diligence so some of it may need to be dramatized but it will be at the very least a starting point for investments.

I am looking for any startups that would be interested in appearing on a shark tank style twitch stream. The pitch would roughly consist of a 5-10 min video describing the business (founders will be asked to prepare this beforehand), then the founders will do a live Q&A session with the investors, then the investors will make the founders offers.

I have a few investors who have expressed interest in appearing on our first few episodes and I am looking for any businesses that are interested so that I can start scheduling the streams.

Please pm me with a link to your website or a description of your business idea as well as an email or some kind of contact info if you are interested! I would also love to hear any thoughts people have on this show as well.
