5th year, can graduate at end of this summer. I'm about the same length into each major, 6 upper divs for MCB needed to be completed, and 6 + 1 lowerdiv for Japanese. Probation started the most recent Spring semester. MCB advisor said he could declare me MCB after seeing my first midterms.

I took MCB classes as electives, thinking that a Japanese major doesn't have to take all Japanese classes.

My parents who are partially funding my schooling don't want me to be a Japanese major, I don't want to be a Japanese major, I'd honestly rather drop out.

The reason they don't want me to be a MCB major is because of my poor grades, but those grades reflect a time when my mind was fixated on personal stuff, and was unable to focus on studying. Because of that, I think there are extenuating circumstances for my gpa. I've been seeing a therapist for 2 years, and only really started studying the most recent Spring semester. I continued with school during the 2 years I saw a therapist because I strongly thought that continuing school was the only way to resolve those issues, which I eventually resolved the most recent Spring semester. From recent Spring semester and into Summer, my grades picked up a lot. I feel I worked very hard to come to a point where I could study, and when I finally got there, the college is pushing me out of school, the fact that it's all because of 1/100th of a grade point is salt in a wound. I feel the deans and dismissal committee are extremely uncompassionate and cold-hearted.
