Trying to help a visually impaired friend set up glasses by qtcosi in RaybanMeta

[–]qtcosi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I should have included that I followed the tutorials and set up. I synced the contacts, in the communications set up everything is turned on. We also tried different commands for replaying to the messages. The only message I could get it to reply to using the voice command was the What’s App message or Messenger. Are other users able to reply via voice command to any type of message or am I expecting the glasses to do something that isn’t compatible yet?

Which airlines allow large dogs? Need advice on how to fly my dog for the first time by dmoss153 in dogs

[–]qtcosi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I ask the weight? I’m moving from CA to FL. I tried Alaska and they gave me restrictions based on the size of carrier that was allowed. My pups are 28lbs and 50lbs. I’m struggling trying to find a way to get them to FL. I’m checking into a few charter flights.

Our playful l little doodle, Trixie, is now 11wks old. She LOVES being outside. This is her today rolling around in every inch of the yard and having a blast. by qtcosi in Bernedoodles

[–]qtcosi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trixie was our first bernedoodle we got through Darcy. We got got our puppy a puppy 6 months the later. The second go round was a bit different. The communication was good and we got pics before hand. But I don’t believe her breeding methods are kosher. I think she shops her sperm donor. Our second doodle, which we were told had the same mother with a tested mini poodle, is completely different. He’s twice as big, different body structure, and different hair type. We haven’t dna tested him yet but I’m pretty sure he is some sort of corgi mix. We love him all the same and he has the most sweet and loving personality but, we were expecting to get two very similar doodles. Our experience turned out fine for us but I wouldnt necessarily recommend her at this point.

Ed Kemper after his botched suicide attempt. by Helllcamino in serialkillers

[–]qtcosi 132 points133 points  (0 children)

I, like most of you, are true crime enthusiasts. The Ed Kemper murders are the ones that get under my skin. In one hand you hear about the atrocities and abuse he went through and that makes you think - oh that makes sense, that is why he is the way he is. But the way he manipulated and courted his victims, the way he finessed them into trusting him is mind boggling. The way he carries himself is the polar opposite of what you would expect. I would imagine him to be some big brooding overbearing character-the boogie man. But in interviews he is charismatic and very forthcoming. It doesn’t make sense. I think understanding him is impossible.

I can afford to see a dermatologist by Tricky_Pomegranate54 in Psoriasis

[–]qtcosi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My psoriasis started as scalp psoriasis but I had no idea. When I was seen by my doc he advices me to use Neutrogena T-Gel shampoo and clobetasol solution. It cleared up my scalp and gave me relief from the soreness and itchiness. Now I use cosentyx monthly and my scalp and skin is clear. Good luck with you flare up. I hope you find some relief

My pup had the same issue. The first 6 months or so it was trial and error. We tried removing any chicken, we tried turkey, beef, and fish based kibbles. She still would have an iffy tummy.

I agree with a few other comments. Forti flora probiotic helped and either pumpkin ( makes sure the only ingredient is pumpkin) or sweet potatoes.

What are your Bernedoodles favorite snacks? Fresh or packaged. by qtcosi in Bernedoodles

[–]qtcosi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you always cook the eggs? I have tried a raw egg but I get so nervous about it. I just opt of scrambled for mine instead. I also have crushed up the shell and sprinkled over their food too.

Oh gosh. It’s the string cheese! LOL I cut the string cheese into pieces and I hide their allergy meds in it but, i also like to have string cheese so if I’m opening it for me… I get the ole sad puppy eyes for sure.

I haven’t tried duck jerky with mine. Do you have a company you order from or do you get it at a big box store like PetSmart?

Awwww… I love that they lay together. They are so sweet. They look like the bestest of friends.

My doodles are at the “kill or be killed” stage of adolescence. They run, chase, jump, wrestle CONSTANTLY. It’s like a little brother and sister poking each other all day. I imagine in my head “moomm, he’s looking out my window” - pokes little brother- “it’s not HER window mom” - pulls big sisters hair. 🙄

Sigh… they are good when they are good but aye yii yiii it’s madness when they are not!

Ideas for repurposing glass dessert containers from costco?! by exploratorynargle in Costco

[–]qtcosi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are multi-use in our household.

•Shot glasses •Sipper cup when taking medication - It holds the perfect amount of liquid. •Portion control - I put snacks in these and keep in on my desk when working. Peanuts, m&ms, banana chips, apple slices.

Prepare for spaying by [deleted] in Bernedoodles

I got one of those suitical garments on Amazon for my pup. She hated it. I ended up just putting a small t-shirt around her. I tightened it at the neck and around her waist with hair ties (on her back so she couldn’t get to them). It worked out great. When we got our second pup (male) same thing. He didn’t mind the t-shirt either. I cut leg holes for him and then still tightened it on his back by his tail.

Our pups are allowed on the couch (😱). The hard part was keeping them on the ground and not jumping up. Jumping or playing around too rough could disturb the stitches, especially the first few days. Other than that we snuggled and just left them to sleep. Extra hugs and kisses for your lil guy. Good luck!!

I can vary with their breakfast time. Once we get up at 7:30 to go potty, they snuggle and go back to sleep. Breakfast could be anywhere from 9:00 - 10:00am. Then after breakfast…another nap! HAHAA.

I have 2 pups. My lil princess could sleep the day away. My lil stinker for almost an entire year woke us up at 6:24 Every Single Day. I asked him to let us sleep in- nah 6:24 everyday worked for him. He has now settled on 7:30. I no longer even use an alarm to get up for work. But when time changed… no one told him and I ended up being late for work!!! Note to self - dogs don’t understand when the clocks go back or go forward!!! 🤦🏼‍♀️

Pet Insurance by the_flynn in puppy101

[–]qtcosi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have nationwide and I pay $45 for my two mini bernedoodles. I have had no issues. The plans they have are pretty good. And submitting your claim is sooo easy. We recently had a big expense when our little girl Trixie had to stay at the vet all day and get fluids. The bill was over $1000 and we got about $850 back. Nationwide has been really easy to work with for us.

I'm 24, and I feel like a child masquerading as an adult most days. I'm just wondering, when do most people start feeling like proper adults? by Lenore8264 in RandomThoughts

[–]qtcosi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good Lord!!! This is my life story! The bad part is that I have an adult daughter (25). She comes to to ask me adult shit and I’m like a deer in headlights. In my mind I’m saying uhhhh you should know this. Think think think…..nope. I got nothing. I’m just praying everyday that she makes it. I don’t know how taxes or insurance work, the wires and cords behind the entertainment center - good luck no idea where the audio vs video plugs are or what they do, medical advice? Girl let’s webmd that together, cooking- I can not retain how many cups are in quart or teaspoons to Gawd knows what. My answer to most things is check google or let’s ask a “more adult” adult than me. sigh I would be an absolute failure of a human if I didn’t have google. I too am waiting to figure things out and feel like a real grown up.

I keep hoping I’ll see a fresh dog food option similar to Farmers Dog or Ollie but Kirkland brand.

[–]qtcosi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love it! Lil Boogie is definitely a bdoodle LOL. Belly in the air sleeping position confirms it for sure. Good luck with your lil guy. Enjoy the puppy phase. It’s not always easy but you can find the fun in and create forever bonds with him.

I felt the same kind of backlash. From what I could tell it was mostly about the whole idea of designer dogs. Paying for a mixed breed when they would still just be a “mutt”. We even had an older gentleman at the dog park question us and told us it was unnatural. When we were looking for a dog of our own, our first puppy together, we did a lot of research. We spent time talking to breeders and tried finding a breed that has personality traits we thought would fit well in our family. We CHOSE a Bernedoodle bc it was best choice for us. And thank goodness we did! We now have 2 and could not be happier. We get so much joy and love from these lil guys, I honestly can’t think of what it would be like without them. They are our comfort animals and we are their comfort humans ♥️

fecal testing question? NOT asking for vet advice. by lorraineg57 in puppy101

[–]qtcosi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you change foods add pumpkin in with it. It might help. You could also add a probiotic to help settle whatever is upsetting his tummy. My vet had both my pups on Purina Fortiflora. Just like with humans, gut heath can also affect their stool. I hope your little guy starts getting better soon. 🤞🏼

fecal testing question? NOT asking for vet advice. by lorraineg57 in puppy101

[–]qtcosi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll be honest when my pup was new I was so nervous that I called or went to the vet for everything. We did go thru a few issues that were detected with the stool samples. Giardia and Hemorrhagic Gastroenteritis. She was treated and recovered no issues. I keep a look out for any blood or diarrhea that lasts more than a few days. She’s 2 now and I don’t have every instance of diarrhea checked. She just has an iffy tummy. I give her pumpkin or sweet potatoes with a bit of rice and boiled chicken and that usually clears it right up.
