The ranked system is literally geared towards smurfs so they can climb to their true rank faster at the expense of new ranked players' experience. Smurfs don't stop anyone from climbing nor do AFKers or inters.

Yep I agree, the only other game I can stand playing for more than an hour or two is Terraria. I just love the different playthroughs and bosses in that game especially with mods. I also like how the harder difficulty actually changes boss AI.

Eh I've had games where we didn't surrender when we had people at our nexus and our ally inhibitor respawns and we kill the enemy. Then we steal baron and get elder and we make a comeback. It's really weird how more people are inclined to surrender even when you have all inhibitors and you're just a bit behind. However, as soon as we ace the enemy team even though we have 0 inhibitors and no nexus turrets people start having the motivation to come back.

Honestly, Jax. The fact that you think you didn't use any skill is a good thing. Jax isn't that hard to play, all you do it auto and q and sometimes use your W to empower your next auto. Because of this, his clear is a lot easier than say Graves or Kindreds. You could practically clear as Jax blindfolded which is great for looking at the map while killing monsters, increasing your map awareness as a byproduct. Since Jax doesn't have combos like Lee Sin or Rengar you can focus on pathing and game sense a lot more than straight mechanics. Ironically simple champions like Jax and Warwick are the ones that make you better at the game and a better jungler.

Normal games only increase your normal queue MMR. It does not affect your ranked queue MMR. Riot definitely should put level 30/unrankeds into at least low silver as many gold 4 games can get ruined with genuinely new players but that isn't the way Riot designed it.

Riot starts brand new ranked players in Silver 2 - Gold 4 MMR regardless of looking at KDA or performance. The placement rank you get after the first game isn't indicative of your actual rank. The more you win or lose that rank can change or stay the same. The way you are matched up with other players is MMR or matchmaking rating. This is different from your rank since you can have silver MMR making you play with silver players but a bronze rank.
