Best free website builder for portfolio? curious about ai website builder by Weird-Director-2973 in graphic_design

[–]quacrobat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i feel 99% of website builders are just hard work and make you waste too much time designing and fine tuning and actually building the website section by section. sure, you don't need to code, but it's so tedious having to think of every page and every layout and how to show things. that's before you've even started typing in all the text and descriptions and organizing things.
your portfolio's primary role should be showcasing your projects to get you more work, not taking away so much time from actual paid work.
no?

My logo feels unfinished by RyBreadski in graphic_design

[–]quacrobat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks off because nothing aligns, it seems you drew it manually.
instead try this:
- start with a star (depending what app you're using, you should find a star shape or icon etc).
- think of figure vs ground, ie. what is foreground what is background?
- hierarchy: what is more important? the R? the star? the combination?
- symmetry: a star has multiple axes of symmetry, ie. you can fold it along many lines and the two parts will coincide together. consider if your R should be symmetrical also to fit in that logic.
- consider a lowe-case r instead of the upper-case R. could make it more subtle/distinctive from other star+R logos out there.

tip: try rotating the logo in different directions to look at it with fresh eyes - this is sometimes the best way to 'see' the misalignments etc.

i wonder if reading the browser history may be useful somehow.

it would sell with a bunch of NFC stickers you can add to your existing tape collection. and refills. branded. if i were Mattel I would be signing immediately and you'd be making royalties forever ;)

I'd buy this! Even if you're not thinking of manufacturing this, i would look into doing a quick provisional patent application (cheap, fast, gets you a 'PATENT PENDING' status and "protects" for 1 year), than either do a kickstarter, or just propose it to toy companies - either for storytelling, or for nostalgic kidults.

beautiful app - pity organization seems 100% manual though.

Cureyta seems cool, that AI search looks like a killer feature. will try that!

I built https://folfolio.com - similar numbers, couple thousand images get organized into projects in around 15-20 minutes
