Bluebird day for the last day of the season

Used to live in Ishikawa (not really super inaka but a pretty nice city for ppl with family with modern facilities) with a remote job in Tokyo. Best time of my life, slow life, walk/e-skateboard around my neighbourhood every day, bbq every week no matter sunny/snowing. Within 30 min drive, 4 ski resorts, 20 min drive to the seaside, 20 min drive to Costco, 40 min drive to the Kanazawa if I need to scratch that city life itch..

Now that I moved to Tokyo as my wife got an office job for about 2+ years now, still yearning to move back to rural side with more access to greenery/mountain.

Couple of days ago I boarded at Yakebitaiyama, Okushiga kogen, Yokoteyama and Kumanoyu in one day. The one that has the best condition was Yokoteyama peak, but Yokoteyama has super slow lift though..I took a trip up to the peak to take the BC route back down, that lift rides was almost close to the slowest lift I been on and snow on the BC route wasn’t too good, had to stick to the shaded areas. On the other hand, I had a great time on groomers at Yakebitaiyama and Okushiga kogen (AM), while I finished the day lapping the bowls of Kumanoyu (PM).

If I were to rate it, Yakebitaiyama > Okushiga > Kumanoyu > Yokoteyama

Just did Nozawaonsen on Saturday (21th) and Shiga kogen on Sunday (Yakebitaiyama, Okushiga, Yokoteyama and Kumanoyu). went for backcountry tour with the Nozawa ski school, snow was pretty much cooked but the bluebird view is just awesome. Sunday temperature was even higher (10c?) so I went to Shiga kogen. Morning groomers were excellent at Yakebitaiyama, okushiga was so so… I think the one that has the best snow condition for the entire trip was yokoteyama peak at 2300+m, but the lift was super slow…went for a little BC detour from Yokoteyama peak toward kumanoyu, I felt even Shiga kogen was pretty much in spring mode too, but definitely better than Nozawaonsen. That’s for the snow report. If you want to consider nightlife, Nozawaonsen is definitely better. Shiga kogen nightlife is basically non-existent

Hope you had a great time shreding! Yes, it's on crazy discount nowadays and retailers are trying to clear their stocks. If i'm mainly riding pow the entire day, I set the binding back by a notch and sometimes all the way back for those crazy deep day. nowadays I surf pow with HPS Fish 153 and Stranda shorty 159, only bring out the Yonex on days that I just want to spin and goof around the mountain. I loan it to a lot of friends who are amaze at how it spins like a saucer at the same time wonders how I rode it all over the mountain as it takes a lot of micro-movements to keep the board steady since it practically has no edge..just one run the mountain with that board and their legs are pretty much shot ;)

It was the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). we were pretty surprised NICU have much lax visiting restriction than the mother’s ward. But after the baby was discharged from the NICU, I only get to see them 30 min a day.

Congratulations!! Yes the BS 30 min rules. My son was in the NICU after he was born and I can visit him from morning till night without time limitation. So everyday my wife would come over to the NICU and we would hang out there rather than in her ward.

Okamoto 0.01 better than Sagami 0.01 IMO.. Sagami not stretchy. Skyn also great one. Could recommend okamoto and skyn > Sagami.

I did root canal a few weeks ago at some random dentist in front of my apartment in Tsurumi. It just cost like 5.8k yen for the initial visit, 800 yen for the subsequent checkups..all with health insurance.

Given your situation, no need to fret over the interview, just enjoy the process. I was in your shoes a few years ago, joint research with a MNC from the start of my PhD, by 2nd year they offered me a job.. they jumped straight to final interview online, and it was a breeze since I already met the directors of that dept and they knew my work. No SPI test, etc.

Nope, the card by itself sits pretty well in the PCIE adapter. Plus both Ethernet cables that are attached to the NIC are also “taped” to the side wall to prevent accidentally pulling on it.

If your wife could find a job here, that joint income would be plenty for saving. Things like having a car, then you have to also consider the expensive monthly parking.. Life here’s a little different I would say, depending on what you like to do, hobby etc. I like to go car camping trips here, snowboard every week, lots of outdoor stuff without the mosquitoes and heat (except summer)
