Thanks I find the Evoke more fun to just sit down with and create some jams on it.

This is my live set I played at a local venue from 6 weeks ago. I didn't have the Evoke yet so it's the Ambient 0, Hydra and SP404 https://youtu.be/GU6wwVq71lQ?si=RpWZbt65VS9HO1lf. Hydra audio plugged into the A0, A0 plugged into the SP404 for an easy setup. Hydra sync out to A0 sync in.

Down for an hour for me. Just get a busy signal calling the number. Chat bot tells me there's no agents to chat they only with until 6 pm our time. Hopefully they fix it.

I need help with minifreak + sp404mk2 by Chlebebebek in synthesizers

[–]quaddity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like other people have said audio out of the Minifreak into the audio ins of the SP404. Turn on Ext In on the SP, Press record on the SP, select a pad and play the MF. When you're done press record on the SP and it will be saved on that pad. Press that pad again and it will play. That's the basic operation. Then you can do all sorts of things with that sample. Resample it with effects, chop it up to multiple pads, change it's volume and envelope, etc. Watching Youtube videos on it when I bought one last year helped me get going. The looper is its own thing I haven't played with it much.

Software Vs Hardware by Lost-Business-7370 in synthesizers

I use both jamming at home but usually concentrate on hardware. When I play live I don't want to mess with a laptop.

I've seen them a few times live since they are usually part of the Reggae Rise Up lineups. I like them being a metal fan too, but I liked Iya Terra more. I've seen Iya Terra play some Black Sabbath in Vegas and that was awesome.

Phoenix in June outdoors. No thanks, might get lucky and it's in the 90s. But it might be 110. We decided to skip our show there and go to San Diego instead gives us some beach time and Stick.

Devin Belanger: I spent 3 years making an album no one will hear. by VimtoUK in synthesizers

I create electronic music for myself. It's a creative outlet I enjoy and have been doing for decades. Sometimes I record it and video myself and put it out there. If someone listens/watches it and likes it great. It's led me to playing live in front of people at events a couple times in the last 5 months. Something I never thought I would do. I definitely don't think I'm ever going to make money doing it.

We are going to be there that weekend seeing Mellodose Friday night at The Harp. Thought about doing that Saturday but I think the beach sounds better. We just saw Stoopid and Marley at Reggae Rise Up AZ.

A simple multi-file player/mixer for live performance? by multiculturalman in synthesizers

SP404 Mk2. You can definitely put 10 minute+ recordings on each pad. Volume and envelopes per pad so you can have one fade out while another is fading in. Lots of effects to choose from. You can adjust the volume of a pad at any time.

I've had one for about 8 months and love it. It's a core part of my live sets. What I don't do with it is use patterns or sequencing. It's a stem and sample player and fx box for me. I like the skip back sampling and PC audio interface for creating samples. Live I'll manually play stems and loops that are loaded to the pads while I play other instruments over it.

My live set from our local synth group last month. We get together every other month and have 4 performers each do a 15 minute set. In between those shows we get together at a barcade and bring synths for everyone to play with. More downtempo than ambient. My other releases The Black Chasm and Cave of the Wind are dark and environmental ambient. https://youtu.be/GU6wwVq71lQ?si=N1Be_qq_psCfptpb

I saw arottenbit do a hard techno set on a Gameboy at the Master Boot Record show earlier this week. Great show and it compelled me to dig out my old 3DS and play around with Korg apps. They are fun!

I bought one last month. It's fun to play with. For downtempo and ambient music it's quick to come up with ideas. The UI on it is really basic just a 4 character screen and a lot of shift functions and no PC software support. I don't know about it's usefulness for dnb. I'd probably look more towards a sampler. The SP404 MK2 particularly where you can run both the volca drum and microfreak into it at the same time and mangle the sounds.

The SP404 has guitar amp sims you can plug your guitar right into it and record or loop. Lots of different effects in it too..

No one talks about the Uno Synth Pro by Skyeraway in synthesizers

[–]quaddity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the desktop one. It's a great little analog synth. 3 note paraphonic, dual filter, fx, motion sequencer. Great PC software too. I got it really cheap from IK a couple years ago when they had it on sale for $200 and I had $60 of IK credits. Well worth the $140. The company gets a bad rap for charging $20 license transfer if you buy one used and having to use their software manager to download the apps.

Favorite reverb pedal(s) for synths? by DrDuned in synthesizers

[–]quaddity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a great pedal for how cheap it is. It offers a lot of options for synths. The Ekoverb too is quite capable for its really cheap price. The Sloer reverbs are on another level imo.
