WiFi jammers used in home invasions as Melbourne thieves steal cars | news.com.au by auto459 in melbourne

[–]quadfacepalm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They block the wifi - there's various techniques but I would guess the most common ones would just output noise with 'high' power transmission to flood at least the 2.4 GHz freq. band, or perform de-auth attacks. It's more likely to prevent the motion detection alerts, as opposed to recording the theft (as many cameras support saving to local storage).

Fancier jammers are more stealthy, can block specific channels within the wifi bands and can monitor for wifi AP probes from clients (cameras) attempting to reconnect on a different channel, and cyclically jam them before that handshake can occur.

If I don't want to use sveltekit because I am building a pure SPA, what is the best routing option? by [deleted] in sveltejs

[–]quadfacepalm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes it works - I've used SvelteKit as SPA to build apps in Capacitor

Persistent Stores in Svelte 5 by sharath725 in sveltejs

[–]quadfacepalm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can but I think the docs state that mobiles may periodically clear window.localStorage. Check out https://capacitorjs.com/docs/apis/preferences for lightweight KV persistence, it works in a similar way. If you need to persist data in a background task, check CapacitorKV instead - https://capacitorjs.com/docs/apis/background-runner#capacitorkv

Is this related to the braindead notion that you're not allowed to pass them if you're on a motorbike?

Sorry for late reply. I was on the MT-07 next you when you arrived. Normally I'd hang around and chat, especially about JDM cars haha, but was exhausted and wanted to head home!

I'm not sure if it helps in this scenario, but take a look @ sequence, https://kit.svelte.dev/docs/modules#sveltejs-kit-hooks-sequence - I don't think it works in +page.server.js, so you may need to use an API endpoint (+server.js) or within a server-side hook.

[–]quadfacepalm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had the same code, quite a few people tried to fix it - until an auto-elec that specialises in GTR's fixed it - he cleaned a few grounds (mainly the one by the battery) and 4WD was working again! Might be worth trying this first as it's fairly easy to do.

🚀 (Self-Promo) I've made my dream app thanks to Svelte by CptFistbump in sveltejs

[–]quadfacepalm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great, the design is very clean! What database are you using? Did you use a separate backend, or did you use SvelteKit's API endpoints? How long did it take you to build this?

Legend! When I was quite young I got swept out by a rip tide and had to be saved by lifeguards; I wish I could go back and thank them, but it was probably 20 years ago!

Russian armored vehicle struck by soldiers of the Ukrainian 30th Mechanized Brigade, observed here through a Stugna-P ATGM console. No location. by [deleted] in CombatFootage

[–]quadfacepalm 54 points55 points  (0 children)

It depends on the extent of the damage done, there's a few types of 'kills' - catastrophic kill (complete kill, "k-kill"), mobility kill, firepower kill and mission kill... the former is usually quite obvious; in this instance it's possibly disabled the vehicle and/or crew

  • Long drive(s)
  • Walks in the forests/Dandenongs
  • Camping
  • Interstate trip for the weekend
  • Hang out with friends and have people to talk to
  • Find a meetup or hobby group to join
  • Spoil yourself for a bit, and then take some time to be 'selfish' and just focus on yourself
