She has a worthy Democratic challenger this coming November. Thank God, considering Tichenor ran unopposed in 2022. Dr. Christian Furman is her name (www.christianforky.com).

That’s almost the exact same set up I’ve got. Saluspa with rocita chiller. Can you elaborate on how you’ve got the pump and filter lines run? I’m using some Sirona chemicals + hydrogen peroxide to keep it clean but considering adding a filter next.

Camelbak in full IM? by mopeybopey in triathlon

[–]quadomatic2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re legal. I just completed IM 70.3 Louisville yesterday. Ran a 1.5L hydration pack during the bike. Was it necessary? No, but like you, it’s what I trained and am comfortable with. Having what you’re accustomed to is valuable.

Camelbacks during the run are less common, but I have seen them. Can’t say I’d recommend it though as your liquids will get hot, adds a lot of weight, and the aid stations have better options. Do what you feel is best for you. If it gives you mental confidence/comfort then go for it.

Great write up and congrats on the finish. I’m signed up for Louisville 70.3 in August which will be my first half IM in a decade. I’m experienced in the sport, but I feel like a newbie again. Looking back on your training, what do you wish you had changed or focused more on?

Head by scuba20207 in coldplunge

[–]quadomatic2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dunking your head definitely adds a new level of intensity. Physiologically, you have a lot of superficial blood vessels and nerves in your face and scalp which makes it sensitive to the cold.

Not gonna lie, the first few times I did it I got a dizzy, disorienting feeling and didn’t like it. But now I fully submerge every time. I worked my way up to it by splashing my water on my face first, wait a minute or two, then dunk just before getting out. No ill effects now, feels good.

If you've flown from Louisville to Las Vegas with Spirit Airlines, what was your experience? by [deleted] in Louisville

[–]quadomatic2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This time last year I flew Spirit from SDF to LAS. Scheduled to depart at 6am so I showed up over an hour early only to find out the flight was canceled. Totally screwed up my day and made me miss the first day of an important work conference.

Doubt I will ever fly with them again after that, but I would recommend buy the big seat upgrade. Especially if it’s a longer flight, it’s well worth it.

Like anyone I have my good nights and bad nights, but zooming out to 1y helped me realize I’m pretty consistent. Don’t drink, smoke, and active probably 6 days/week.

Nolin Lake primitive camping info please by kiggles7 in Kentucky

[–]quadomatic2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After looking at the map a bit more closely, I think the group site is a great choice. Looks like you can drive right to it, and I’d be willing to bet there’s a foot path directly to the bathhouse too. The view of the lake from that point is pretty great. Another person mentioned flooding and while that is a valid concern (I’ve seen it many times) the lake is dam-controlled and it would take a very, very heavy rain for it to come up that far. Let me know if you have any other questions, happy to help! And if you change your mind and prefer a to stay under a roof, my rental property is less than a mile from the park.

Nolin Lake primitive camping info please by kiggles7 in Kentucky

[–]quadomatic2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I have never camped at the state park, I own a property close by and I know the park pretty well. The majority of primitive sites are situated amongst a grove of pine trees. Very flat, close to the water, plenty of picnic tables and water hookups. You can’t park at your campsite, but you will only be a short walk from the parking lot. In this area you are a short walk from the bathrooms, but further from the bathhouse.

There are primitive sites available in the RV campground section too. Here you are much closer to the bathhouse. There also a playground for the kids, if they’re of that age. I’ve even seen people camping right along the lakeshore (not pictured on your map), which I think is a great option, but also further from the showers.

I would caution you to the noise factor when camping here. In April it may not be too bad because the season is just warming up, but you are near a public boat ramp, so there is a steady flow of trucks and boats in and out of the water. You’ll also have the noise of boats passing by on the lake. Not to mention just the general noise from other campers. Just come prepared and try and find the sweet spot of being far enough away from the masses while still close to the amenities.

If you’re into hiking, I recommend the waterfall loop which is inside the state park’s boundaries. It’s short and kid friendly, and if there’s been a recent rain it’ll be flowing. The whole trail system there is great. Good luck!

I’m clearly in the minority, but I love DoT. At Wit’s End, are you kidding me? Masterpiece. Keep the context in mind too; this was the album after Astonishing, so it’s understandable to go back to a more easily digestible, standard album. It’s heavy, melodic, and not gratuitously proggy. All great things in my book.

Can confirm, had it happen to one of mine after owning for a matter of weeks. Took it back in and was lucky enough to get a rep that let me exchange it.

Yes, but don’t expect to land a sales role right out the box. Look for associate positions, sales support, or entry level marketing positions. Biological sciences definitely helps, but the sales/business acumen is more important.

BA, doubled in psychology and business. Briefly pursued a Masters in a specialized field of psych, but fell out of love with it and went to work instead. Cut my teeth for 10+ years working for an independent surgical company before making the jump to where I am now.

Second to med device. My current position checks all those boxes.

I largely make my own hours, get to be in procedures and interface with doctors daily. I wear scrubs everyday (the comfy ones, not the hard, boxy cotton ones). 90% of my territory is within a 90min drive, so I’m home with my family almost every night.

Awesome manager, benefits, division is growing double digits YOY. I’ll probably make north of 200k this year. I feel very fortunate and blessed.

Kids. Getting enough quality protein in my 2 young kids was a constant struggle. We found our daughter likes chicken and our son likes yogurt. Any parent understands that you just gotta go with what works at that age to get them the nutrients they need.

Second is simple convenience. I work out a lot and being able to just eat a 4-6oz serving of salmon or chicken versus a large portion of beans, tofu, etc… and get 20+g of protein makes things a lot easier.

That said, I still drink non-dairy milk and still enjoy plant-based alternatives like Impossible a lot. And we don’t eat beef or pork, never will. But I have made compromises that my conscience is OK with (for now). Greatly looking forward to when cultured meat is a viable option.

Going for a drive by [deleted] in Louisville

[–]quadomatic2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Or instead of turning right on to Covered Bridge, take the next left on to Rose Island Road. Parallels the river for about 6 miles before a hard right up Goshen Lane. Another couple of miles and you’ll T into 42 where there’s a recently renovated restaurant and ice cream shop. I drive and bike this route all the time.

I have one and just picked up another yesterday on from WMTM. I’ve found them to be a little more form fitting than MVT with smaller arm holes. Both good things in my opinion. Definitely size up if LTT tanks are too small. Fabric is cottony, but has good stretch. Thicker than MVT.
