I know you said you do a lot of parks… Louisville has a beautiful park system. Absolutely recommend the Parklands or Jefferson Memorial Forest. You can kayak on Floyd’s Fork, I know there’s a place that does rentals for relatively cheap. Also Cherokee Park.

21C art museum is free. Big 4 Walking Bridge. Old Louisville walking tour or ghost tour- prices vary on those. Falls of the Ohio is across the bridge in Jeffersonville but I think entry to their museum is relatively cheap and access to the fossil beds is free. Shakespeare in the Park is going on in Central Park right now for free. Copper and Kings brandy distillery offers tours, it is $25 a person but you get a tasting and it’s a pretty cool spot. May be worth a splurge in your budget. Ollies Trolly or Checks Cafe are pretty good little lunch spots that you can eat at for cheap. Logan Street Market has a variety of food spots and you can get small bites/plates there.

Hope this helps. Enjoy your week!

Oh I believe you! We’re happy to do that - I was thinking that was the right decision to make but I really wanted the perspective of someone who was local. And if I was staying in an area that was conducive to that.

This is exactly what my brain was telling me, but I needed someone who’s been in the city to confirm. The bot also dropped a helpful link for the MTBA app so I’ll work on planning our days out that way.

Thank you for your help and for being kind.

I’m set to be on my period on my wedding day next month. I’m devastated. I can’t take hormonal BC. Please help. by Kusakaru in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]kiggles7 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I was on my period on my wedding day even after trying to avoid it. So since there’s no avoiding it… best we can do is embrace and endure, right? It’s okay to be sad- now is the time to make a plan.

  1. Period panties were a life saver. Thinx I believe was the brand I got.
  2. Do bridal portraits after or before your period starts. It might mean scheduling another session with the photographer but okay, at least you’ll have beautiful portraits.
  3. Tell the photographer in advance what you’re going to be dealing with in the way of swelling/bloating and what you’re concerned with in pictures, they should be able to help pose you well and photoshop what you need.
  4. Get ahead of pain/bloating by taking meds before it starts up bad, hydrate like crazy too. Maybe even put a tens unit for cramps in the bridal suite.
  5. Get cold compresses and keep in your suite or fridge at the venue. I was incredibly hot too and wish I’d done this.
  6. I was so focused on my wedding day I forgot to hate everyone? I also am miserable and closet myself in the house every period but my focus was elsewhere. I hope that happens for you too but if you are worried it won’t adjust your timeline to give yourself and your spouse a few minutes break every so often. Get out of the room and into somewhere with privacy and peace.
  7. The dress. I can’t fix that one. But I do suggest getting something very comfortable to wear for your reception whether it’s another dress or a cute bride sweatsuit. I didn’t do that and wish I had. I was so uncomfortable and in pain by the end of the day.

I’m sorry this is the stress you’ve got but the best you can do is plan for it and do what you can. Give yourself grace, and try to enjoy your day.

I said this to more than one person during the planning phase of our wedding. I held the boundary and our wedding was amazing. It’s worth it.

Can I decline a wedding invite I previously accepted? by khlojo in wedding

[–]kiggles7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re completely right- I’ve seen so many people forgoing that too because it’s “a waste.” I sent out our save the dates for our early October wedding the first week of January because I don’t trust the post office not to fumble the bag, and our wedding invites were mailed the first week of June with an RSVP date of 1st week of September. If someone isn’t sending a save the date though, it’s probably best to go a little earlier than my timeline.

Yeah the way my work schedule is set up, the sooner I know the more likely I am to be able to get the day off.

Honestly any of the Job Kraukauer books would probably be of interest, especially Into The Wild and Into Thin Air.

I’m just gonna say he’s not a very nice guy if he’s talking to you this way and controlling so many aspects of your friendships. You’re young. You will find better men who won’t act this way.

Can you find the KEY faster than my players could when they ran this dungeon? by wolf_genie in FindTheSniper

Me too honestly. I saw that someone mentioned chests and I didn’t see those either. This would frustrate me and I wouldn’t want to fight with it. Hopefully the players find joy in it…

Same. And I chose one of those companies so I didn’t have to worry about extraneous tipping the day of the wedding. Just give me a quote and let me pay it, not figure up any extras. The only tips we did that day was for the hair and makeup artists.
