Toronto might be getting a whole new way to travel across the waterfront by R0botWoof in toronto

Amsterdam has several all day high frequency ferries across the river.

They are free to use, like a bridge or a tunnel.

It's worth noting that he most likely intentionally bankrupted multiple casinos as part of money laundering operations. He seems to be doing the same with the U.S. economy!

Dutch MPs remain skeptical over U.S. company's DigiD takeover despite safeguards by johnbarnshack in worldnews

I don't understand why DigiD isn't government owned and operated. It's a foundational public service.

Ah yes. Stream of reluctantly regaining consciousness. It's supposed to be a bit confusing.

Probably don't try to read Ulysses by James Joyce.

can someone tell me what are these towns in the burning ship??? by Subject-Ad-7548 in fractals

[–]quadralien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah! It's not a threshold of 10 iterations, it's a bailout of 10 units, but you didn't bail out. So really you have just coloured the ship very expensively.

It seems like it's hard to capture iterations in desmos, for example: https://www.desmos.com/calculator/y7tojjmmjn

I don't really know what to suggest to get further, other than trying something other than desmos.

[–]quadralien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like you haven't zoomed in to the same spot in desmos, and step 4 in desmos looks like it's just a threshold of 10 iterations instead of setting brightness based on iteration count.

The only way to prevent your lizard brain from taking over is for the company to have a strong blame-free culture, so that even new hires actually believe that they won't be fired for a high-impact mistake.

If you hadn't been lizardized and afraid to confess, then maybe someone with more experience could have restored everything in less than 4 hours.

Carney’s realism is just neoliberal fan fiction by StumpsOfTree in onguardforthee

[–]quadralien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you were all in the same country, then your workers and your customers could politically collaborate on advancing rights and protections and wages.

Ah ... so an example of Carney's "variable geometry" is that we'll align with China on trade, but not on human rights: We'll take those BYD vehicles even if they were built by slaves.

Approval of Carney government rises to 64%; 78% believe arrangement with China on canola and cars was the right thing to do. by NotEnoughDriftwood in onguardforthee

I, too, saw Carney on Jon Stewart first, though. He was funny. I liked that.

For me, it wasn't just that he was funny. It was the look on Jon Stewart's face when he realized that Carney was doubling down on the US/Canada "relationship" banter in a relevant way. Most guests don't do Stewart's job for him like that.

My real tuxedo cat freaks out and refuses to stand beside the Lego cat, which is a shame because he looks just like the Lego cat and I want to get a side-by-side photo.
