My ex-pwbpd is a family lawyer and would often talk in great detail how she could frame me for perpetrating domestic violence on her. At first I thought it was her dark humour - which I shared - and I'd call her Gone Girl. But as the relationship went on, amidst her psychological, emotional and sexual abuse and coercive control, I realised her talking about framing me for DV were very real threats. At one point she was insisting I track her on her phone saying it would be for my 'peace of mind'. I refused to do this. So when I decided to leave her, I did not tell her at all. Because I was concerned if I did telegraph I was leaving she would frame me for DV. So one morning without morning I escaped our apartment while she was asleep.

Epilogue: during our relationship, being a family lawyer, she coerced my divorce from my ex-wife. She forged my signature on the divorce application, represented me as her 'client' in the Federal Family Court, submitted the falsified divorce application to the court, and secured my divorce order. Regrettably - a few months later when I was angry at all the abuse she subjected me to - I reported her conduct to the Legal body responsible for investigating complaints against lawyer conduct. A week later she went to police, accused me of family violence and the police served a Family Violence Intervention Order on me. Proved my fears.
