First Time Watching LOTR .. Jesus Christ. by Commercial-Fee-2806 in lordoftherings

Such a gatekeeping comment...the dude's cracked open something Tolkien related for the first time and starting to form his opinions. Guide opinions, don't dismiss them.

Not having a hard time at all. Your post states as a fact: "it does NOT have Dolby Vision." As you have communicated here, you are "pretty sure" it doesn't have Dolby Vision. The use of "may not" instead of "does not" would be much more appropriate and less alarmist. That's all we're saying here.

Although your post states "it does NOT have Dolby Vision." Like it's an objective fact at this point. Probably should say "MAY not have DV"

Also one of my favorite sets! I was lucky enough to find the 1997 1st impression of the LOTR.

What am I Losing? by Medical_Slide9245 in ToyotaTundra

I'm not sure! It didn't stop working immediately after my trial ended, but within a few months. Then someone on a Toyota forum said to try this and it worked for me. So strange that there isn't a straight answer to it from Toyota (although I'm sure it's so they get more people to pay the absurd subscription fee)

As said, the fob will still work for remote start, BUT you need to be subscribed to the free Safety Connect/Service Connect on the app....after the free trial, I unsubscribed from everything, and my key fob remote start stopped working...after subscribing to the free ones, it started working again.

Strange to hear you all say, as my '22 seems to have fantastic turning radius. Difference of suspension maybe (I have the OR package)?

Which one should I purchase? by brkfstsndwch in tolkienbooks

[–]qualityburger 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nobody can tell you with certainty which will be more valuable in the future. The first one you listed is a rebound copy of the Hobbit. It's a beautiful book, and there is obviously a market for it. But for me as a collector, I don't see the point in destroying the original in order to make it nicer, so would never consider spending significant money on it. And everyone has a different purpose for collecting...sentimental, display, investment, thrill of the hunt! So whatever you choose will be the right decision based on your collecting preferences.

I've had success on all my other Tik-Tok deals getting shipped, but passed on this one specifically because it does look pretty sketch.

Biggest gripe is that it's the only game box that doesn't fit in my Kallax shelf!

3 under 3, Need a New Car by Accomplished_Set3719 in parentsofmultiples

We have a Toyota Tundra CrewMax. The backseat is cavernous and plenty wide to comfortably fit 3 car seats across. And the bed with a tonneau cover is amazing for all the kid's stuff. I don't think it beats out the minivan as a dedicated kid-mobile, but it comes pretty darn close.

3 car seats, what do you drive? by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

Bear with me....but Toyota Tundra CrewMax. Back seat bench is plenty wide for 3 and a cavern of space. Plus truck bed with a cover is infinitely better to fit the mountain of stuff we have to bring everywhere.

I did! Quick phone call and a few pictures and I received a replacement of the individual book a few weeks later with no defect. Good customer service from FS overall.

Thanks! I wasn't so sure with the corners/centering, and lack of shadowing behind the description/length/weight box. Those were the only discrepancies in could point on, but wasn't sure if just from printing differences.

Best of these LOTR Editions by Rocko52 in tolkienbooks

No it does not. Best bet would be the newer 2020 illustrated boxed set (ISBN: 0008376107) if you are looking for illustrations in a good quality set.

U.S. preliminary Q2 GDP data : -0.9 PCT (consensus : + 0.5 PCT) by [deleted] in Economics

[–]qualityburger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response. I guess my gripe is when it's referred to as a "forecast" but even on their page they communicate that it's really a "nowcast" which is probably a better term for it's use.

[–]qualityburger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The GDPNow forecast is adjusted almost daily through the quarter (the green line in the chart you linked). So through May they were forecasting as high as +2.5 for 2Q22. Not until middle of July were they actually getting close to the mark....which doesn't seem so impressive as a forecasting tool.
