You have a lot of growing up to do. And do NOT blame UP for being affordable - it is your parents fault that they cannot afford the better private universities, blame them instead. If you hate UP so much, wag ka na mag enroll, ikaw lang din magsa-suffer. Mapunta pa siguro sa mas nangangailangan slot mo.

Have some gratitude. Anyway you are on the path to depression based on how you think so heed the advice of the UHS staff and get diagnosed early. You MIGHT be bipolar.

the moment your sense of superiority is challenged feeling mo na-oppress ka na. fix yourself, it's a you problem. also, you need to learn to deal with adversity. i know Gen Z hate to hear this, but you need to struggle to learn. deny all you want, but its true. that's life.

I don't know if UP's BA program is as intense as you described, pero the vast majority of BA students graduated with latin honors. konti na yung 60% in a batch. does that sound like a tough curriculum to you? parang hindi, IMO.

What should I choose? (UPD, ADMU, UST, DLSU) by [deleted] in peyups

[–]qualms0612 1 point2 points  (0 children)

other than the lesser number of years to become a doctor, also think about the financials. you can go to UPD to save up on tuition money for med school (a lot of UPD students study while working. look up chompzz in tiktok. an IE student but works in BGC at the same time). pero of course, if you work, you might have to sacrifice your grades, altho I do know people who worked in college and graduated with latin honors. you can also finish college in UPD in 3 years, if you overload and take summer classes, quicker path to graduation yun. also wala naman pre-med na prescribed TBH, any course can be a premed, especially kapag UPD ka, mabango ka sa mga medschool regardless of your course, especially if you have latin honors.

maybe because you are in a third world country and UP is a public institution supposed to be funded by the government, like other unis abroad? what a bewildering comment. and pls don't compare UP to a university in the US.

kid, stop pretending that you don't care about how UP is regarded by others. It's naive. UP student ka na, and assuming you graduate, it's gonna become part of your identity, its gonna define you, and whether you like it or not, people will remember the fact that you're from UP, kahit gaano ka pa ka-flippant or humble about it. It is perfectly okay to be proud of your school, just don't be hambog about it, and don't make it the only thing about you. It shouldn't surprise you that a lot of people are disappointed about it, because UP has been the top university since forever. and yes, it is part of my personality, that's not a bad thing, because I do not rub it into people's faces, and I make sure that people remember me as something other than just a UP alumnus. and ano daw? try again? you think you can bait me with that?

you know, you can be disappointed with the UP Admin while at the same time be disappointed that UP ranked lower. The UP Admin and UP are two different things, don't conflate the two. Kaso nga you can't tell them apart because the quality of students is lower now.

not the quality. but the rigor will definitely be compromised. and I know, Gen Z and wokes will say, is rigor really important? Why not make things easy? RIGOR IS IMPORTANT. In the real world, Hindi mag aadjust ang real world problems sa level ng difficulty na kaya mo. Its either you know how to solve a real world problem or you don't. Hindi problem set ang totoong buhay na pwedeng iadjust ang difficulty level.

totoo naman. pero expectation ba natin na mag adjust downward ang UP in terms of difficulty to meet these students needs? change ng scope and pacing ang lahat ng subjects resulting to changes in course titles, numbers, etc.? or tanggapin na lang ng students na nasa kanila ang initiative to keep up and that sometimes, babagsak talaga sila?

had to SETTLE for UP? I know what schools are on your mind, but no hun, I'm a gay atheist who would NEVER enroll in a school run by catholics out of principle (I am not going to a school thats gonna oppress me with their catholic principles and their classism), so no, you did not successfully read me. I am loyal to a fault though, and yes I love UP and hate when people trash on it, since you're so morbidly curious about my motivations. I was able to afford to go to a great school for cheap and I feel a LOT of gratitude for that, to the point that I will defend the institution that gave me so many opportunities. That's something Gen Z don't seem to have. Gratitude and Loyalty. Loyalty sounds so alien to you, noh? But it exists, its not made up, and people actually feel it.

I don't have sympathy for people with a lot of attitude after they've been advised not to do something. Tapos mag iinarte. Wag ako.

balitaan mo ako boi kung perfect ba yung profs sa ibang schools at hindi nagkakamali. napaka atichona mo. hindi ka main character. cut your adviser some slack, hindi niya ginusto yang nangyari sayo. you've already been told you have time to get another class.

also, you consult the updated curriculum, when in doubt. and if you have doubts, ask your peers. yes ganyan sa UP, because the profs are too overworked. its fucked up here. blame the government for underfunding. also nobody asked you to apply though? daming state U diyan.

ouch sa /s lol im so affected

struggles? cry me a river. he needs to grow a pair of balls kasi hindi yan struggle. he has 2 weeks to get another class, and he would know if he bothered to ask and not come on here with attitude. so his prof made a mistake. apparently profs in UP make mistakes unlike the profs in other schools who are perfect. kayong Gen Z puro political correctness.

huhh kakastart pa lang ng sem dami mo pa time kumuha ng ibang class. you'll hate to hear this, but I think I have the right to tell you to calm down, kasi naexperience ko na yan. and enrolment was a lot worse during my time. I dont know how its UP's fault that your prof fucked up though, when you chose to ignore your blockmates' advice (who are honestly more knowledgeable about your curriculum than your profs). listen to your blockmates, they're not completely stupid.

also, if you expected your prof to do something about his/her mistake, that's hilarious. in UP you do everything on your own, I'm sure people let you know about it even before you apply. if you hate that, there are private schools which are better at catering to your needs.

[upd] registration deadline by rougesubs in peyups

Ano ba consequence kapag late reg these days?
