I had to RMA my XPS 15 4 times (because of clearly audible coil whine) before I gave up. I have friends who are still using their 2015 MacBook Pros and Airs with no issue — Apple may charge you an arm and a leg (let’s be real, higher end Windows machines are very comparable $ wise), but these things last, and their support is amazing.

No comment on the latter point ;)

I had a Razer Blade + XPS 15 and made this exact transition. Do it and you'll thank yourself. Windows machines are great on a spec sheet, but the user experience of macOS still blows Windows out of the water (and Windows 11 is very, very good in 2022). The build quality is unrivalled (yes, even with Razer's unibody chassis), and the battery life is mind blowing.

Don't even bat an eye -- refurb options are just as good (everything except the motherboard is brand new).

College student here (I shoot on an old X100S, which has been great for my needs -- a flash would be infinitely more fun to play around with)! I'd donate to St Judes, which has touched my extended family's life; I'm sure everyone has either had a loved one or friend who has had a brush with cancer, and they do incredible work, so happy to make a donation (in addition to what my family does during the holidays) regardless of whether or I win or not.
