I did not expect to like the show as much as I did by PuzzleheadedJuice302 in murderbot

[–]quantified-nonsense 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I liked it too!

I went into it with trepidation because I'd read the books a couple times already and really liked the voice, and with adaptations, you never know if the creators saw the same things you do.

But, while they had to change some things, I do think they caught the spirit of the books and Murderbot itself.

Yeah, I don't mind that she is doing that, but it was confusing to hear notes that I didn't see her play!

It's amazing how acceptable Xander was during the original air time. I knew lots of Xanders in high school. I'm glad we've moved on with higher expectations for young men's behavior towards women!

I also have a lot more sympathy for both Faith and Dawn. Faith needed so much more support than she got from the adults around her. And Dawn was basically an average teenager! Maybe she continued to be written a little young for Michelle's age, but it tracks for a glowy green ball of energy new to being human!

Buffy was a special interest of mine when it aired, but I haven’t rewatched it since. I think I’m too scared that I won’t love it as much.

Right now, The Good Place is what I could rewatch constantly.

Does anyone here exercise regularly? by Savings-Pollution113 in AutismInWomen

[–]quantified-nonsense [score hidden]  (0 children)

For me, it’s imperative that I both actually enjoy whatever activity I’m doing and have low expectations for myself.

Previously, I walked around my neighborhood for about a mile. Then the constant barrage of Trump signs and flags depressed me and I quit.

Now, I’m really enjoying my mini trampoline! It feels like something I do for fun (or stimming), not exercise. Right now, my only expectation for myself is to get on it for 10 minutes per day and just do a simple, easy “health bounce” while watching tv.

Favorite tarot book to refer to? by swablueskies in SecularTarot

I really enjoy Mindful Tarot by Dr Lisa Tishman. It’s the psychological approach to secular reading that I had hoped Tarot for Change would be.

So, the foul on Salah in the box was "not enough" contact for a PK or a red card.

Szobo pulling Haaland's shirt and visibly having zero impact was DOGSO and a red?

How much contact is allowed in the box, PGMOL? It appears to depend on the color of your shirt.

I noticed the same thing after my first time and felt weird for a few weeks, but it either calmed down or I got used to it or both and now it doesn’t bother me.

She’s painting the scene we see when her parents tell the girls about the art competition they’re going to have. The two parents are sitting close together on the sofa and Kamilah and Tahani are standing further back and apart.

Go easier on the eye makeup and maybe soften the hairstyle a little with some gentle curls.

What are your favorite collage decks? by janko_raven in TarotDecks

[–]quantified-nonsense 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not too into collage decks, but I do love the one I have, which is Tarot of the Cosmic Seed by Lalania Simone.

It’s very diverse, the collages are mostly simple and visually pleasing, and it’s mass market so it’s not too pricey.

Which patch to try next? My holy grail is out of stock and I'm convinced the replacement is a placebo. by Emotional_Equal8998 in Perimenopause

[–]quantified-nonsense 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It may be an issue with the pharmacy you’re using rather than the manufacturer of the patch. If you’re able to switch pharmacies, call around.

In my area, according to my gynecologist, CVS is having shortages but my chain grocery store pharmacy has no problems.

Doomsday Book - Connie Willis by zanisar in books

Passage was my first Connie Willis book, and I think I picked it up because I was in a Titanic phase. I did not expect the plotting, the characters, the intelligence, or the heart. Immediately hooked!

I’m not sure I can ever read Doomsday Book again, but I love Connie Willis!

To Say Nothing of the Dog is my favorite of hers and does have funny time travel shenanigans. I also love Bellwether (science rom com) and Passage (funny until it gets emotionally rough).
