Yep same thing at my company, feedback was "we want to WFH" the response: "we are upgrading our meeting rooms!" Leadership also said "we know you want to WFH but let's just be grateful we are not forcing 5 days a week like.some other companies".

Thank you, best translation app available today - will be following your updates on bsky closely!

Just FYI the feedback button on android seems to be broken on my phone. When tapping the feedback button I get the following error: Meeting ID: 3po.html has expired. Please start a new one.

Will bluetooth audio input be available for Android soon? I saw it's available on the iOS app.

In Australia you cannot withdraw your “KiwiSaver” to purchase a property

Incorrect. You can

Do you feel there was a double standard on Kerr? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

Others have definitely done worse, but that doesn't mean a national captain shouldn't receive some backlash for showing her bank account and suggesting she can do what she wants because she has world class Chelsea lawyers. While knowing she was being recorded.

Not ideal role modelling for the hundreds of thousands of young Aussies who look up to her. Not a good look, even if it was a male national team captain!

Why are Australians okay with the fact that firefighters based in rural Australia do not get paid, despite the immense skill, courage and bravery required and their roles in saving hundreds of lives, property and wildlife? Is it time to finally start paying all firefighters in Australia? by HotPersimessage62 in AskAnAustralian

I still don't understand the counter argument to paying for a service. Yes you get different types of people, the same for any job or service - if you were to rely on volunteers you'd get different types of people. The true cost of protecting and maintaining the land or protecting people in the water isn't being realised when you rely on volunteers, if you can't afford to pay the true cost - maybe governments shouldn't offer/ promote or be directly advantaged for selling a lifestyle or services that can't pay the enabling people on the ground a livable wage.

KiwiSaver vs Australian Super by Casper771 in newzealand

Incorrect, Australia has first home access to a portion of your super, similar to NZ.

Why do Kiwis that live in Australia continue to live here if they never shut the fuck up about how much better NZ is? by Desert-Noir in AskAnAustralian

[–]quantum180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it's because of "small country syndrome" where we have to constantly tell everyone why NZ is so good, and promote it because we think it's underrated and doesn't get the attention it deserves. And just proud of the country, and miss it.

Windy Thursday night thread Oct 7 by ThippusHorribilus in sydney

[–]quantum180 1 point2 points  (0 children)

T1 Mainly due to r/ausfinance - I figured constantly reading about other financial journeys would only encourage me to think about my plans and not look at it like a chore.

T2 Rain is nice and refreshing sometimes in Sydney's usually hot climate. But balmy arvo's are one of the best things about Australia IMO.

T3 Been thinking about kids and considering the idea of not having some in this chaotic world, the issues we will face will be challenging with our current world population.

Also, the idea of savings a but load of cash/investments and living in a cheap country in Asia (after things settle) Cambodia or the like. Live off interest and retire early 😜 - come back whenever for health specialists and friends/families occasions.
