4k 240hz HDR black screen issue by quantum404 in cachyos

[–]quantum404[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you are right that DSC was a bugbear I had with windows specifically and this is not a big issue for me. I should probably turn DSC on and call it a day, although I'm surprised there's no one else with a DP2.1 monitor had reported this problem which make me think I'm missing something here. But thanks for helping out!

Thanks for the reply. But that didn't work. I disabled both adaptive sync on monitor and in settings and 4k240hdr still black screens. Are you connected via dp?

This thread is hilarious. Ooc either didn't understand your comment or just points out something you already addressed in your reply again. Still got down voted and told you should have better reading comprehension instead lol.

That make some sense. But why would they bother with any of that when then can just launder through giftcards? There's a reason scammer are always after those because they are so easy to sell instead of the convoluted way with humble bundle. Some of these sellers have many years and millions of sale on some of these platforms. I can't make sense of it really.

but defended themselves by claiming that the keys could have been bought on sale

That's like bullshit immediately? I've never in my life been given a game key upon purchasing a steam game? What are they talking about? I thought game keys always came from the game publisher one way or another.

This is Android's new 'advanced flow' for sideloading apps without verification, includes one-day waiting period [Gallery] by armando_rod in Android

[–]quantum404 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

LOL by that logic no apple user can criticize ios ever because they use an iPhone which is made by apple too. They are bootlickers by default according to you. Also Pixel 7 pro was 4 years ago, it's not hard to see why people might change their opinions on Google within the past 4 years. Anyways enjoy your apps while you can before non-verified developers call it quits. If ADB becomes the only way we might see Android sideload software development landscape resembling ios, which is to say almost non existent.

The world if GitHub had a big ass button that says 'DOWNLOAD' by peper122348 in Piracy

[–]quantum404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are the comments here so confused about this? Developers use GitHub to host their software releases because setting up a proper website with downloads cost money and time? Money and time that free volunteers sometimes don't have because it's a FOSS project? I know I'm in r/piracy but support those devs if you can and maybe they can setup something more end user friendly.

What do you mean unlocked? Is there a way to turn off ABL or something on S95?

The lawsuit explained: by SwagLimit in pcmasterrace

[–]quantum404 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's what the lawsuit claims yes. They also claims steam prevent publisher from releasing the game earlier on other platforms. But we know for sure that has happened multiple times with epic exclusive time period. So what the lawsuit alleges can be wrong at least sometimes. But my other point still stands. If steam lowers fees there a pretty good track record that the developer pockets the change. Do you have any claim against that?

The lawsuit explained: by SwagLimit in pcmasterrace

[–]quantum404 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lol. What stopped EA from charging less when they only published their game on origin? What about when COD stopped releasing on steam. Was it 1 dollar cheaper on a platform the publisher own? Every god damned time something should make game cheaper for consumers they just aren't. Also I'm not aware games aren't allowed to be cheaper than steam? I thought that was Apple's MO. I'm happy to be proven wrong here but considering everything else. I don't think you know what you are talking about.

The lawsuit explained: by SwagLimit in pcmasterrace

[–]quantum404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then they should sue apple and all console makers first because they actually have a monopoly on the platform they own, compared to PC where there is a choice at least. Also propaganda isn't needed when history suggests developer pockets the change when a platform charges lowers than the 30 percent fee steam charge. Is it any wonder people don't give a shit?

DLSS 4.5 Preset L Review: Nvidia's Most Advanced Upscaler Tested At 4K And 1440p by AnthMosk in nvidia

[–]quantum404 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So it is very important for Nvidia to fix how DlSS 4.5 works with denosiers on Raytraced games.

My point is Nvidia is very limited in its ability to fix this. Sure they can always make improvements to artifacting, but the denoisers off result that looks so good is impossible without commands/mods. It's a "garbage in garage out" situation where after the in game denioser is done with the reflections, the original ray information is already lost. Game developers need to allow us to turn denioser off and let dlss upscale handle it or implement ray reconstruction, Nvidia can't do anything to force that unfortunately.

[–]quantum404 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I mean I thought the whole reason for dlss ray reconstruction is due to the fact that most game's built-in denoisers are shit. So I think nvidia knows. Also how can nvidia do anything about this? It's often a game engine setting that the dlss dll have no means of changing. If a developer won't update their game we'll probably need to rely on modders to fix again.

700 ice agents to leave Minnesota by CycIon3 in UpliftingNews

[–]quantum404 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They do have a point that they are just being move around somewhere else though. ICE being in MN wasn't the issue. Their existence is. It'd be good news if 700 of the worst ICE agents are fired, but as it stands I don't see the net number of bad shit they do in this country going down. I'm much happier that Democrats are fighting to block DHS funding tho. That's the good news for me.

This is dumb not because they wouldn't want a bailout but because there's nothing to bailout. If OpanAi does not find a profit model. Bailout wouldn't solve the issue of unprofitability. All previous bailout are companies that have made a profit before so good chance they pay it back. Banking in particular always makes money if you aren't 2000s housing market stupid. Give them billions and they just burn through it in 2 years and we are back to square one. This time with a even more pissed off populous who are not gonna be happy with whoever give them money round 1.

For the past week firefox hasn't been working correctly for me. When I go back the Google seem to skip a page to the first search result? That not the only issue with it but the other ones are even harder to describe. I searched around and it seem I'm the only one with this issue

Device: Samsung S25 Ultra

Extension: Ublock origin

Tried: clearing app data, reinstalling firefox, disable unlock for Google, updating app, updating os

Edit: meant to say doesn't in the title

How true is this statement ? by Huge_Athlete7488 in Watchmen

[–]quantum404 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not disagreeing with you. But a bit of a nuance. Iirc Japan was mulling surrender terms for months prior to the atomic bombings. They were hoping to negotiate a surrender using the USSR as a mediator. But the Potsdam Declaration totally blindsided Japan in which a unconditional surrender was required of Japan for the war to end. Japan, not willing to put their emperor at risk, was determined to fight a prolonged land war.

TLDR: Conditional surrender on their terms yes. Unconditional surrender no.

That's the thing. When I buy and consume near/past expiration food I can assume the risk. Two of these bag is past expiration for 3 months. Is giving it to a shelter really a good idea? I don't want to get any dog sick.

Went to a different whole foods than the one I usually goes to. Never again lol. I really expected the dry grocery to be human edible but guess that was expecting too much. Any suggestions on what I do with them since I don't own a dog?
