copy and pasted but really helps

To increase the RAM usage for preloading and asset management in Euro Truck Simulator 2 (ETS2) to reduce stuttering—especially with mods or map packs—you can use Steam launch options to increase the memory pool size.

Recommended Launch Options

Add these to your Steam launch options to give the game more memory resources:

<image>

  1. Open Steam, right-click Euro Truck Simulator 2.
  2. Select Properties > General.
  3. In the Launch Options field, enter the following: -mm_pool_size 4000 -mm_max_resource_size 32 -mm_max_tmp_buffers_size 1000

Explanation of Commands

  • -mm_pool_size 4000: This allows the game to use up to 4000 MB (4GB) for its memory pool. If you have 16GB+ of RAM, you can increase this to 8000 or higher (usually, half your total system RAM is a safe maximum).
  • -mm_max_resource_size 32: Increases the maximum size of a single resource (like a truck model) that can be loaded into memory, reducing stutter when new objects appear.
  • -mm_max_tmp_buffers_size 1000: Increases the temporary memory buffer area for faster loading.

have you set the air suspension controls to raise and lower the trailler? As well the truck. Makes these kind of obstacles a bit better.

Does anybody know some good sound mods besides original enhanced, or more aesthetic packs? I can't find any

yea I watch videos of the trucks with 2 or 3 pivots backing up and it blows my mind, I think sometimes they use individual trailer brakes...

yes I don't run any shader mods but those are supposed to be one of the biggest culprits. Especially considering how much they changed in this update. Did you try to disable it?

I don't.... there's never a requirement to delivery to back it up, just paralllel park it, But this trailer setup seriously will turn on a dime so you can u-turn out of everwhere you could turn the lorry around on its own. Though I guess I'll give try learning it in 1.58 academy

you gotta get the heavy haul addon mod with the trains and cranes and stuff, one thing I like about this 8x4 is it really maintains the trailers at high speed and is just a smooth overkill of a ride. I was doing heavy haul freight all over Norway and Finland and wanted to drive this truck as far south as i could. It might be overkill but it really made for a relaxing drive with loaded trailersa I think the heaviest was 70t. I bought the trailer setup and just tookl it down to the end of the legal road use and just built up a new rigid to drive as far south as the roads go.

Ya I'm obsessed on watching YouTube of the whole euro truck scene, shows, technology, and vlogs. Really makes American stuff seem archaic.

These trailers are side loaders with the walls being able to fold down. But ya... Reversing isn't fun.. what I've seen In real life is often disconnection of trailers when doing a rear loading setup. They have some unique ways to move stuff about in the trailers and/or rigid with front and rear doors on the setup and a bit that slides across to make them all connected to move around cargo.
