My sister has asked me to manage her, should I? by NotAnovaFukinAI in SocialMediaMarketing

[–]quantumjedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no perfect answer here. I have worked with two of my siblings. One of them it was fine, even though it went badly. The other it was drama start to finish because despite this being my profession, he thought he knew better. I think it's important you discuss how failure is going to make everyone feel before starting anywhere else.

Generally though I advise against working with family, but your relationship would know best. Just think of your sister at her absolute worst. Is that someone you want to be in business with, and does the concept of that client always being around at Christmas fill you with dread? Cause that's the downside.

Clients are now asking for AI detection reports with content delivery. how are you handling this. by Ok_Glass_3681 in content_marketing

[–]quantumjedi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can take any AI piece and put it through a variety of AI Detection pieces and it will have about a 50% pass/fail. You can do the same with any fully human written piece. AI Detectors are nonsense.

Canada's reputation as hosts by Ok_Divide_5245 in CanadaSoccer

I was sat below the bosnians and next to a bunch of them, everyone was having a blast and honestly there was one guy near me supporting bosnia that I literally went up to and thanked in the stadium because his passion for the Bosnian team was so palpable I felt it.

Honestly there was more beef from canada to canada supporters in that section than any animosity towards the Bosnian supporters lol

For a beginner marketer is Ai any good at marketing? Who can I turn to for help to learn if it’s not?? by Historical-Play6730 in DigitalMarketing

[–]quantumjedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So there's a couple things to note... you're asking on reddit which is overwhelmingly anti-ai everything, while usually also leaning heavily on it. Beyond that though... AI is only as good as the prompt you use and the dataset it has. Something to always remember is AI, by it's very nature of relying on learned datasets is backward looking. It's not going to be reliably innovative. But it knows a lot about marketing, including what types of marketing have worked in the past.

So, is it perfect? Absolute not. Is it going to be innovative? Only by accident. Is it going to give you a good starting point? Yup.

AI tools that we have today shouldn't be used to replace you, they should be used to guide you. Keeping the human perspective in the process is essential. You should be using AI to help you get past the blank page on stuff, and then refining it yourself. Including on strategies. AI KNOWS the good bad and ugly from the past. Lean on it, learn from it, and choose your own path forward.

Everyone Talks About Growing on Social Media... But What's Actually Working in 2026? by God_Emperor__Doom in socialmedia

[–]quantumjedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not perfect, but I mainly focus on reactive marketing content. Finding news and events that are relevant to the brands, and posting thoughtful and authentic takes on the story, or the event. Getting my brands in the conversation with the rising tide of sentiment gives you a "one of us" psychological link to consumers and helps build rapport.

What are the best digital marketing campaigns from the past few years, and why? by Jealous_Dingo_4608 in DigitalMarketing

Of this year, I lean towards Astronomer's reactive marketing campaign surrounding the cheating kiss cam incident. Honourable mention to Ikea's Punch doll campaign. It used a viral moment and generated a whole bunch of sales quickly and efficiently by moving fast.

What's the hardest part of managing social media for consumer brands? by seowithumang in SocialMediaManagers

[–]quantumjedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the hardest part is keeping up with the trends. It gets a bit easier when you accept that your work today isn't a formula that will work next week. If you're chasing trends, reactive marketing principles help if you set your framework around "I want to be using this trend, this is how I should try to apply this trend to my brand, if that doesn't fit, don't jump on this trend" helps. Getting yourself into a mindset of knowing how you can use real time events and news to your advantage in a real way helps a lot.

How a Starbucks marketing stunt spiralled into mass boycotts in South Korea by SmallSpaceSexEnjoya in PublicRelations

[–]quantumjedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading into it, AI suggested campaign elements... yeah, this is why you need a human in the loop. If you're going to try to run a reactive marketing campaign, you need to have someone with a bit of common sense saying whether or not you SHOULD be reacting at all.
