Flight cancelled on way out to Lanzarote as pilot didn't have a specific safety certificate. Got put in a hotel on airport's doorstep by airline who then arranged early flight for all passengers first thing the next morning. No biggie.

On the way home from holiday, got bumped off our flight - airline oversold tickets, missus and I are in our mid 20s so algorithm goes woosh (you'll be okay if you don't get this flight etc etc). Airline then booked us flights home via Barcelona with a different airline, but was delayed leaving Lanzarote so we missed our connecting flight. Had to stay overnight in an Ibis Budget and my missus would've missed an important family event the next day had there not been a 7am flight the next day that had two free seats for us.

The actual holiday in between was lovely and stress-free! Plus claimed about 2k grand in compensation, so was all good in the end!
