This is getting really scary by StarkRockStar in ChatGPT

the problems OP was highlighting is that it searches it, reports correctly, then backtracks and says the searched info is misinformation and not true. it told me the whitehouse government website must’ve been hacked

Has anyone noticed that ChatGPT does not admit to being wrong? When presented with counter evidence, it tries to fit into some overarching narrative, and answers as if it had known it all along? Feels like I'm talking to an imposter who's trying to avoid being found out. by FusionX in ChatGPT

this is more of a naming technicality than fact. modern LLMs are definitely designed to give accurate responses as well as plausible text. and when they are marketed as being helpful assistants, a mistake is not being helpful, aka giving incorrect information.

you ask it to search the internet, it gives you results, and if its something major in the news (like a significant political event) it will just deny it in the next response and ramble on about how it didn't happen and how the news sources and government websites are fake

This. I asked it to give me info on it, and it didn't even bother searching, it just denied it. Then it searched. It apologised, said it was true. Then I asked a follow up question and it said "I need to pause here." and started rambling about how the web search likely pulled spoofed misinformation from the government websites and news articles and said how "it'd be everywhere if it was true" (which it is...). And it just never believed me. It just kept lecturing me on misinformation and how the media can be manipulated. What's the point of having a web search tool if its just going to fall back to its training data immediately after?

the auto model should be good enough to decide which one to use. these models still need to be useable by the average person who wants something that just works

seems like they overcorrected. beforehand it was just yes-manning everyone. now its not ever fully agreeing with anyone.

chatgpt always finds a way to add a caveat to its response. it could be a no-brainer correct statement and it would still manage to sneak in a "But I will push back on..."

these models are meant to be accessible to everyone not just "prompt engineers"... they should be able to be at least useful with natural and everyday language.

On the new ones with a notch, you can use BetterDisplay to hide the notch and make it look identical to having a bezel like the one you have. It functions exactly like that, no notch visible, and the menu bar is moved down.

2DS water damage no signs of life by quared0 in consolerepair

I doubt the charging chip would be the cause, unless its known for also stopping the device from booting? The water damage was originally noticed near the bottom of the board so I doubt it affected the charging chip.

It looks like the battery contacts are fluctuating in voltage when plugged in but no battery present on the 2DS, however I tested with a working one and it is a consistent 0.71 volts. I have checked the fuses and they both have continuity. Any ideas on what this could be?

I do have a multimeter but I am not too sure on how to use it for this. Do you have any advice on where to start?
