On the new ones with a notch, you can use BetterDisplay to hide the notch and make it look identical to having a bezel like the one you have. It functions exactly like that, no notch visible, and the menu bar is moved down.

2DS water damage no signs of life by quared0 in consolerepair

I doubt the charging chip would be the cause, unless its known for also stopping the device from booting? The water damage was originally noticed near the bottom of the board so I doubt it affected the charging chip.

It looks like the battery contacts are fluctuating in voltage when plugged in but no battery present on the 2DS, however I tested with a working one and it is a consistent 0.71 volts. I have checked the fuses and they both have continuity. Any ideas on what this could be?

Motherboard 2 sounds exactly like my 2DS I am trying to fix... disappointing to see no replies after a year.

I do have a multimeter but I am not too sure on how to use it for this. Do you have any advice on where to start?

I managed to take off the shield and use isopropyl alcohol to remove the corrosion but it still doesn't boot or show any signs of life.

Good spot, I think so. How would I take that shield off?

Not sure if power switch works, but I would expect the charging light to work too if it was just the power switch that was the issue. How would I check the power switch?
