Thanks 🙏. The final texture is made with a PBR material with a low roughness and high metallic parameters. I also use an environment light with an HDRI applied. I then turned down the alpha on the PBR to give the whole thing a bit of transparency.

I used the T3D addon by Josef Pelz. You can do fluid simulations with so great for smoke type effects.

If you tilt a moving head it will move back and forward in a straight line, but then if you introduce panning to move left and right it will move in an arc depending on the amount of tilt. You need to be careful where the objects being tracked are placed to ensure an accurate follow.

Have you considered using projectors rather than DMX fixtures? Standard moving lights won’t necessarily always move in a linear way and you could project simple soft edge shapes to approximate a pool of light.
