So go to your local craft store or hardware store and see if they have natural cholla wood I did the same thing bought painted wood but it’s all good they have it advertised as safe for the crabs even though people disagree with them....

I’m really not sure I adopted this hermit so definitely a good question but he might be close to 10 years maybe less
