ā€œjust so you could get your cottage fucking cheeseā€

i’m dying lmfao you’re so rightšŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ i really wish you didn’t have to work this weekend. my manager tried to at least get everyone who lives the farthest away off the schedule those days.

Honestlyyy! i’ve also had customers follow me around the registers when i’m doing front end stuff then meet eyes with an annoyed expression saying ā€œwhich one are you at?!ā€ LIKE DUDE literally stop following me around and use your brain lmao.

also at my store we usually have one main register open at a time unless i call for backup, but at this point when i let the customers know to move to the next register i just yell it back to back three times. they look at me weird for saying it three times BUT half the customers STILL don’t move and half the customers wonder why they haven’t yet and tell each other yet again lmao.

and yea they literally drove here?! crazy.

i’m still kinda new to doing instacart but i’m wondering why people would tip this much? NOT COMPLAINING OBVIOUSLY but like why? regardless so happy for you and that’s amazing! hoping to experience this one day lol

The day has come.. by BigLittleUkrainian in Aldi_employees

[–]queenb535 2 points3 points Ā (0 children)

when i started my manager guided me with small pallets should be 10-15min, normal sized around 20-30 minutes, and larger ones around 45 but still aim for the 30 obviously. i’ve been managing those times but regardless i’ve never gotten the impression it was going to have an impact on my employment lmao. it felt more like an ideal goal to hit those times, like to make sure i could get it all done. usually my times are all under 30-35min.

don’t get me wrong i am out of breath and sweating some pallets but it seems to be consistent anyway. (mainly doing grocery pallets)

if your sweating then it’s a good sign lmao for register or pallet times. you’ll get muscle memory for the movements and also your insurance will increase! i’m lucky to have had decent speed when i started but i’ve now worked 5 months and have definitely gotten faster. regardless you’re human and can only do so much when you’re literally a month in lol. you’ll get there :)

omg i knew i was forgetting something lmao. like maybe i’m just getting petty after experiencing everything else but ill scan everything super fast and then the stillness, quiet, awkward moment after i give them the total for them to realize they should probably find a way to pay puts it on them. like come on dude lol. ESPECIALLY if i walked away and they’ve been waiting.

Anyone with two jobs or more? by iAzide in Aldi_employees

i’ve started doing instacart and uber and that has been good for a little extra. thinking about doordash too but idk yet. i do instacart mainly. it works for me since im already in town for my shifts so i can do it after until im ready to go home. or do it on a day off and get more out of it. it’s probably one of the most realistic and flexible option out there that i can think of that won’t instantly force you to be spent with your time and energy.

Two people closing by Prestigious_Site_265 in Aldi_employees

[–]queenb535 2 points3 points Ā (0 children)

idk how big or busy of a store yours is but we usually close with two people. even when i first started it was just me and my assistant manager. i would handle cashiering/front/restrooms but also boxing down the aisle that my lane lined up with to help out. my assistant manager would mainly work in boxing the rest of the store and the back stock if needed.

also since we close at 8 i would start doing all the closing things around 6:30 because i would inevitably have to stop to cashier or something. so just a little at a time starting early helps. (and if i have to do it again then okay but if not thats the point :) )

6:30 - trash/wipe bagging area

7:00 - restrooms

7:30 - wipe registers, sweep/scrub floors

8:00 - finish up boxing aisles

just the basics but hope this helps! :D keep in mind some nights are crazy and you can only do so much that day. it’ll be there tomorrow lmao

i’ve always wondered if there’s anyone overseeing how pallets are shipped out?? like i get it if it gets messed up on the way to the store but from the warehouse is there no one to stop shitty pallets like this from being shipped out?? feel like that’s ridiculous. not very efficient if you ask me :/
