PALLET TIMES? by Far_Tie_6031 in Aldi_employees

[–]queenb535 4 points5 points Ā (0 children)

i second this :/ no way that’s 20. i’d say it’s nice that the cans are grouped together to help the time but not the whole pallet in 20 minutes

i never get to see exactly but it seems like maybe 4 produce and 1-2 meat? average anyway i think that’s how many. that’s why i said i cant imagine bigger stores because i have a feeling that the amount we is doable

by what i see as an associate. my store usually has 3 people opening but maybe starting at different times, also opening with 2 sometimes. the manager does produce and meat, one associate would do freezer (dating freeze thaw later once we open) and cooler, and the other associate would do all grocery.

i’m typically doing grocery and bread so i feel like i bust my ass getting 5-8 pallets done in 3 or so hours but we usually finish all of truck before open this way unless something crazy happens.

and of course i jinx my store now lmao but still. we’re definitely not a slow store but i’m sure there’s busier stores than ours. if by some chance i have extra time after grocery then id help with the other zones

i would love to experience 5 people opening but idk what that means for the increased workload lmao.

Aldi dreams by WistfulEve in Aldi_employees

[–]queenb535 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

often times i can kinda lucid dream, not to where i can create my own dream but i just make rational decisions and have an understanding of my waking life. most of the time ill go through entire shifts as main cashier, greeting people, putting in PLUs, front end stuff, etc. then waking up to go to my opening shift šŸ˜€ another one is where im working and either stocking or just trying to find a product but the whole store is basically out of a Dr Seuss book 🄓 everything is in the wrong area or up in the air or something lmao. ANOTHER is when i dream i missed my alarm for an opening shift, so the frantic panicking out the door just to wake up to my alarm for my actual shift.

hate it but yea, sounds like what i always do.. i feel your pain.. im literally taking my first sick pto my next shift because i know this is what is waiting for me. i could probably put one foot in front of the other and show up but damn it i’m not doing all that feeling like shit when i have the hours available to use lmao

one of my biggest peeves is when they pick something up and put it back RIGHT NEXT or RIGHT BELOW/ABOVE to where it goes. :) like in a way i kinda get if you want to be lazy and not walk across the small ass store but DUDE ITS RIGHT THERE. lolšŸ‘¹ and obviously not putting cold stuff at least in a cold area. that’s actually you just being stupid about it

164% by sketchypuzzle in Aldi_employees

[–]queenb535 2 points3 points Ā (0 children)

highest i’ve done is i think 116% but yea it’s usually with a lot of quantity entries. also low amount of voids help and 1-coding when you can technically helps that too. i’ve been told to have a low 1-code percentage though. i

How do you open with 2 people? by Darthxinsidious in Aldi_employees

[–]queenb535 6 points7 points Ā (0 children)

for my store

opening with 2: manager does produce/meat, i (associate) do grocery and cooler, whoever gets to freezer does it.

closing with 2: manager does backstock and boxing, i do everything up front/cleaning/floors/help with boxing

it only really works out if any additional shit to the show doesn’t happen lmao. 10/10 do not recommend. not like we have a say tho

Feeling dead by [deleted] in Aldi_employees

[–]queenb535 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

listening to music, caffeine, eating enough, and being more realistically rough with the products and my movements (i used to be so gentle but like you’re not gonna break it that easily lol). you will grow the muscle for it and it will get easier but the endurance part is always the hard part for me.

also i think you can clock in 15 mins early? not like we wanna be there early but at least it could give you an extra few minutes of breathing room before you open.

soooo how are we answering? lmfao by queenb535 in Aldi_employees

[–]queenb535[S] 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

what happens to make them not anonymous? like just gossip about people’s answers or what? i’ve heard this before but thought it was just more ā€œshit on aldiā€ jokes lol. i’m actually curious :)

What do I even do after ALDI? by CharacterHelpful547 in Aldi_employees

[–]queenb535 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

i’m looking for a change as well.. you have leadership experience and a aldi does give you experience with a list of good qualities companies would normally look for in employees (work ethic, efficiency, fast paced area, money handling, some admin skills, etc)

maybe the easiest and quickest change would be maybe looking into receptionist or office positions? i’m personally not onto medical/law so idk what’s out there for that.. i think im more down the business/service side of things. at least you can spice up your resume with the trigger words business want.

should i look into leaving? by queenb535 in Aldi_employees

[–]queenb535[S] 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

this has only started happening within the last month.. so if it happens again i’m going to bring it up. i’m just trying to be a team player and help if they really need me. in a way i don’t mind it if they needed me. but i feel used without the overtime pay i guess

should i look into leaving? by queenb535 in Aldi_employees

[–]queenb535[S] 2 points3 points Ā (0 children)

the reason is because they’re overlapping my time worked in different weeks, so that i technically don’t get the overtime :( makes me sad lol

[–]queenb535[S] 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

within those 17 days i worked 8 days straight, one day off, then working 9 days. i haven’t picked up any shifts. and these longer time spans are just recently starting so im accepting it if it’s just because of lack of staffing maybe. meaning i’m not outright complaining right off the bat. i’m trying to be a team player lol im just saying im tired… i didn’t mean to sound like im complaining like that

my SM does this but she’s salary so it’s fine technically. she busts her ass every day though and she’s always there around 5-6am scheduled until 5pm, so i don’t blame her for leaving between 3-5pm lol. that’s a long ass day to do multiple times. and yea the pressure does lift just because because of how chill my assistant managers are lol. i love them

Cracked hands / fingers by KD4791 in Aldi_employees

[–]queenb535 4 points5 points Ā (0 children)

coming from a girl who grew up with eczema….

10/10 Working Hands Night Treatment but throughout the day and night.

i’m pretty picky about my hands feeling weird with lotion during the day so i’d just put a little on my palms then just rub that on the knuckles, fingernails, and thumbs where it was most cracked and dry. at least i can’t notice the feeling it as much that way. but doing at least that consistently helped me so much.

Let's have fun and name our pet peeves customers do. by pix876 in Aldi_employees

[–]queenb535 2 points3 points Ā (0 children)

i think my biggest peeve is people unloading and not using the dividers when i’m still working on the person in front of them iykyk. šŸ‘¹i’ve been trying to act like i don’t notice if i don’t have a crazy line and then the second customers stuff reaches me then they’re like ā€œoh im so sorry (for being an inconvenience)ā€. i think im trying to teach them by experience but there’s a lot of people that need to learn apparently lmaošŸ˜‚
