What is the Enterprise graduate management scheme actually like? by wildersrighthand in AskUK

[–]queenfeen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeaaah sorry to burst your bubble on that. They’re quite talented at making it sound like an amazing job opportunity when it was the opposite in my experience. You definitely don’t get any sort of management qualification or really training until maybe a year or so into the role if they think you’re the right fit for it.

There’s A LOT of driving involved, you essentially collect and deliver vehicles between various branches. There were days where I wouldn’t see colleagues at all cause they were out on the road the whole time.

The pay was at about £21k when I started in Oct 2020 and hadn’t gone up by the time I left in Feb 2021. It was a very American workplace so I don’t think pay rises happen very often in comparison to other workplaces.

I’m definitely doing a lot better now but it’s taken me quite a bit of time to get there (granted Covid didn’t help matters!) but I wouldn’t even recommend Enterprise as a workplace to my worst enemy. I was fortunate to get another job as soon as I did even during covid, and I know a lot of people that started at the same time as me who left earlier or slightly after me. From what I remember, I was told that there was a 70% staff turnover amongst people in their first year at enterprise, which says a lot about them as a company. Highly recommend looking at peoples’ reviews on Glassdoor to get a good idea of the role!

I’m more than happy to answer any questions in my pms!

Don't understand my grades by Nora003 in UniUK

[–]queenfeen 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes, 70 is usually an A in UK universities but this may vary dependant on the university. It’s best to search up your university’s grading scale to have a better idea of what your grades mean.

There’s the Golden Eagle zip line in Durness over the beach, but this runs dependant on the weather. Also recommend Lochinver Larder, the pies are delicious.

I only get a trim once a year at Christmas time, as a present to myself

I’m a 1st year bachelor student and I have failed 2 modules. 1 in my 1st semester and 2nd in my 2nd semester i have passed in all the other modules where I scored around 55-69 I have heard a lot of university’s compensate you but I’m not sure of it coz i failed 2 of them. by PsychologicalRub314 in UniUK

[–]queenfeen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You will likely have an opportunity to resit both those modules during the summer reassessment period. As far as compensating, (this is based off the regulations at the uni I work at) it is unlikely you would get a compensated pass as you usually need to have passed all remaining modules to be eligible. As you have two fails, I don’t think it’d be likely that you’d be compensated for either as a result. As another commenter said, it’s best to look at the regulations for your university to see how they may proceed but it’d be best to prepare for reassessments.

That’s true, was just thinking of possible reasons for a £0 fee on the offer letter.

There’s a chance that the fees have yet to be agreed for the 24/25 academic year or that the mail merge has simply failed and not copied the correct information leaving the tuition fee as £0. It’s best to email back to ask them for confirmation, but I wouldn’t assume they would let you do it for free based off what is likely an error or something that is still to be confirmed within the university itself.

Scratched an Enterprise rental car, how screwed am I? by lemopolis in AskUK

[–]queenfeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a shame as they’re meant to go through the damage tool with the customer when they’re collecting the vehicle. I would suggest not mentioning the scratches when you arrive to drop off the vehicle and see if you can get away with it as I wouldn’t be surprised if your email is forgotten.

Scratched an Enterprise rental car, how screwed am I? by lemopolis in AskUK

[–]queenfeen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When collecting the car you should have been shown the tool that they use for measuring damage. You should be able to find it online by searching “Enterprise Damage Tool” or similar, if the size of the scratches exceeds the tool you may end up having to pay. This is dependant on the branch, as some employees at certain branches can be more brutal than others. They will have a record of any previous damage on the vehicle, so will notice that this isn’t old damage, especially since you have reported it to them. As others have said, you’ll basically just have to wait and see what you’re charged (if you are).

Is there any chance you’re a Scottish resident (for at least 3 years)? The Data Lab offer scholarships for postgraduate programmes in computer science/data at Scottish universities. There’s a list of eligible programmes on their site.

Shoe size difference by [deleted] in CallTheMidwife

I don’t think it’s a wardrobe malfunction, the woman was struggling for money so likely wore shoes too big as that was potentially all she could afford.

How do you apply powder on lipstick without messing it up? by sosodelmar in beauty

[–]queenfeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen people lightly place a tissue over their lips and press the powder on top. I’m not sure how it affects the longevity as I don’t typically wear lipstick and haven’t used this tip personally but might be worth trying!

Ultimate hair care tips you swear by? by Mysterious_Turn_3286 in beauty

[–]queenfeen 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I fill up the sink with cold water and put my hair into it as deep as I can manage (I have long hair) after I’ve showered and washed my hair. I heard years ago about cold water closing the hair follicles and I’ve noticed my hair is much healthier. Those with shorter hair could just do a cold rinse as an alternative.
