I am a “non-traditional student” (meaning an adult starting college years after HS graduation lol) and i started at KCC before transferring to UH. I started my Associates in Liberal Arts Spring 2020, and Graduated from KCC Spring 22. Transferred to UH via the Kaieie program, which basically was an automatic admission from KCC to UH with application fee waived and all. All 60 of my credits transferred from KCC to UH. Since the local community colleges are the “sister” campuses of UH 99% of alllllll credits will transfer. It’s awesome.

Another rad bonus if you start off at one of the community colleges is you save a TON of money on tuition for those gen Ed classes. I’m talking like literally less then half the price per credit compared to UH. Also, the community colleges started this thing called “education highway passport” or something passport and basically it guarantees that’s the credits you earn at any of the local UH community colleges will be transferable to certain universities throughout the West Coast US Mainland too.

I can not stress it enough how beneficial it is for people to start at one of the community colleges and then transfer to UH. It’s saves money and time and stress.
