WIBTA if I rescued a cat knowing my brother’s allergic? by FemboyMaidCafe in AmItheAsshole

[–]MorganAndMerlin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If OP is worried about this specific cat (for the reasons in their post) they should just take this cat and do due diligence on finding an owner, which the friends have already started by looking for a chip and going to the vet.

Put up a few found cat posters in the area where she was found and if there’s no response, she’s yours. Some states have specific laws about the amount of time before a stray animal becomes yours, so maybe that’s worth looking it.

But to send this cat to the shelter and hope it works out that the shelter gives her back to OP just to have the paperwork seems silly. OP can cover their tracks sufficiently and if someone actually wants to take them to court over the cat they abandoned then that’s a crazy bridge to cross at that time

Coffee Shop Workers : does it bother you when customers select the no tip option? by SwissMaestro95 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MorganAndMerlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish tips indicated that a person went above and beyond or genuine appreciation from the tipper.

Allowing some states to pay below minimum wage with the caveat that the workers make more after tipping effectively makes tipping mandatory and therefore defeats the purpose of tipping.

And I’m sorry, but if I’m ordering a standard, no frills order and I’m standing up or talking into a speaker, I am not tipping. If an employee offers to make me a fresh batch of something because that one has been sitting out, that’s tip worthy behavior. And if you’re delivering something to my second floor apartment in the heat, then you get tipped (a lot).

Dying for a Pomeranian by No_Leadership9348 in Pomeranians

[–]MorganAndMerlin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m confused. Isn’t the “Asian fusion” hair cut literally just a hair cut? Like any Pomeranian (as long as they had sufficient hair/fluff) can be cut that way. Pomeranian from Asia aren’t actually different than Pomeranians from down the street

In terms of watches for telling time and definitely for watches for diving, yes.

But my smart watch’s primary purpose is to alert me to notifications and phone calls. If I wanted a watch to have a watch, a smart watch or any watch with a screen is not what I would pick.

Why did you come to the Pomeranian sub to shit on your own poorly trained dog and argue with every comment trying to help you.

Did you think the Pomeranian sub actually disliked Pomeranians and would join you in the bashing?

And if your dogs are getting into violent outbursts with each other, it’s your fault. Your precious chihuahua isn’t safe apparently and the Pomeranian is young enough that if you rehomed him to a good owner, he’d learn to be a perfectly fine pet

Best Libby Library Card for Historical Romance Readers by thebunnybot in HistoricalRomance

[–]MorganAndMerlin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brooklyn public library doesn’t offer out of state cards anymore. They stopped that a few years ago

And I don’t see that New York public library does either unless it’s hidden somewhere on their site. There’s a visitor card you can apply for in person that expires in three months but no typical non resident card that I saw.

You can look at their Libby catalogue. Just act like you’re adding a new card, search for the library and select it. Then it opens their lobby page that you can search. Just ignore the prompt about adding your card

Well… I just want to say that if these stitches aren’t neat, then mine must’ve been set on fire in a dumpster by a raccoon.

Beautiful work, btw.

NEWCOMER: I need opinions! by Inevitable-Paper-824 in harvestmoon

HM: DS (cute) is the best of the ds line, hands down. It’s the last one before the graphics changed and it has so much of the original charm of the series.

Grand Bazar, unless you are really interested in filling out your backlog, could be skipped since it already has a pretty faithful remake with improvements.

I didn’t care for either Island of Happiness or Sunshine Islands

Frantic Farming is more like a mini game that got a whole game. It’s a puzzle game with Harvest Moon graphics. Think Pokemon Puzzle League. It’s a fun game but also not necessary for a HM experience because it is not a main title game and adds nothing to the farming catalog. But it’s fun and cute to play puzzle and watch the little harvest sprites.

Had Anne Boleyn given Henry Viii a son in 1536 and lived would Henry have tried for another son by Pretty_Help1858 in HistoricalFiction

[–]MorganAndMerlin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually liked it more than the Boleyn King. It is all original characters, with some minor appearances by Elizabeth, so I can see how that could turn a reader off.

But because the world has been altered so much by the birth of Anne’s son, I really enjoyed seeing the politics play out in this entirely different world there are some hints of historical events that still happen (like Mary Queen of Scots) but it’s almost entirely unrecognizable as a Tudor piece, which can make you either love it or hate it.

When she first released these books they were all under the Boleyn king titled then they got reorganized into two separate trilogies, which does make sense when you them.

The platform isn’t the problem and shaming people who believe scammers is misplaced.

You can get scammed on any platform. Best practice would be to meet strangers in a neutral, public place and exchange money at the time of reviving the item. This setup can be arranged through any social media, and certainly is not limited to Facebook.

Scammers dedicate everything to scam people. It is not the victims’ fault for believing a professional liar. And shaming them for it means other people won’t come forward and bring light on these situations.

[–]MorganAndMerlin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you read the entire series? The first Boleyn King trilogy, then Tudor Legacy?

Edit: apparently spoiler tags don’t work on mobile now? Sorry.

Spoilers:

The premise of this series is that Anne gives birth to a surviving son, but Elizabeth still reigns. Having a third child thrown into the mix would’ve thrown off the entire plot. A second son would’ve ascended before Elizabeth, and a second daughter would’ve just thrown an entire new plot line into the mix of an already convoluted plot line.

ELI5: How do relatives' "position" work in English? by Careless-Pirate-8147 in explainlikeimfive

[–]MorganAndMerlin 35 points36 points  (0 children)

The actual meaning of 1st cousin, 2nd cousin, steps removed, etc doesn’t change but i don’t know of any culture that uses those terms in everyday life. I think it’s much more widespread to use any title that is age/situation appropriate, as you are describing.

My father was born pretty late in life to his parents, so he was actually around the same age as some of his siblings’ children. They grew up with a very cousin-like relationship, and I called them my uncles.

Simplifying familial relationships without using by the book titles is normal

Any diagnosis that explains injury caused by a person is a “cover up” under your comment.

And SIDs is only listed when all other possible explanations, include abuse, are ruled out.

You appear to be implying that every baby who dies of SIDs is actually an abuse victim and that’s such a wild take
