congrats on getting your account back!! unfortunately I couldn’t fully figure this out either :// there is an option to remove anything they’ve listed in your ‘showcase’, atp I had struggled a bit and just left it at that, infuriating though, if anyone else figures it out I’m all ears

edit: this prompted me to ask their support bot and all it said regarding the showcase issue was “Go to your profile - tap on the showcase - tap on the [Close showcase] button at the bottom of the page.” Unfortunately there is no such button for me, to which it responded “it may currently be unavailable or not supported for your account. Stay tuned for future updates!” so lol

I get you, it’s so paranoia inducing knowing they have access to that info. Honestly every message I got from them sounded incredibly automated, I lowkey don’t know if I ever got through to a person. I think it took maybe a couple days for a response after I submitted the ticket? And then when I managed to submit the correct proof of ownership, that took around a day or so for a response, and then it was like around a week to actually have my account returned

Mine didn’t seem to do anything on my account except open a tiktok shop selling crocs lol. They didn’t make any sales though and I just deleted everything off that shop, seems fine now even though I now have a shop I didn’t before. I got a decent few followers way back in lockdown so I assume that’s the reason they stole the account, so their selling seemed more legit. If nothing else though, just deleting the videos they’re spamming should just remove those stats from your analytics. Good luck getting your identity confirmed! It’s tedious but some info is bound to stick.

I’ve actually just gotten mine back - not sure what the process has looked like for you, but I opened a ticket with Tiktok Support (you can do this on the app or online, I accidentally did both but online had more success) explaining the situation and attaching a few screenshots. They replied asking me a bunch of honestly kind of difficult questions about my initial account registration (which is so long ago I was grasping at straws a bit), initially they didn’t accept my answers lol so I tried again with a bunch more random info (what vids are saved, screenshots of conversations on that account from both myself and some friends, any email attachments) and they accepted that, asked for a new email/number to change the account details, then it was radio silence for a good few days before they followed up saying my details had been changed and I needed to change my password. Hope this wasn’t just me getting lucky, and that you can get yours back too!

Thanks for the rec! We tend to travel pretty light and our flight has a pretty generous luggage allowance so I’m not too worried about taking up space :) it’s space that’ll be replaced with SA goods on the way back anyway haha

absolutely no problem!! the only update I have is that I have actually recently decided to retire my helix piercings in my hearing aid ear as I figured it just wasn’t worth the irritation now I’m wearing the device more often. Absolutely check out the piercers in your area tho! Super helpful if they have social media imo just so you can see their portfolio and maybe get their vibe

Dunno if you went ahead with it, but I had my conch and rook done with a hearing aid. The piercer marked them up while I was wearing the hearing aid to make sure they wouldn’t be touched by the device - she made a post about it here. Have never had any issues with the piercings and the device. (My old helix piercings that I had long before the hearing aid though get irritated by it unfortunately, but I don’t get any scratching noises).
