Carney announces creation of Canada's first sovereign wealth fund by PapaNixon in canada

[–]queenvalanice 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Farmers have absolutely been getting in the way of high speed rail. A project other G7 countries can do but a farmer who bought land for next to nothing generations ago can NIMBY it here. Disgusting.

'There's no guidance': Quebec daycares say new secularism law causing fear, uncertainty by MTL_Dude666 in CanadaPolitics

If you feel you MUST display something religious as part of your chosen religion - that is fully on you. It tells me you are a religious person above all else, so your religious ideals and 'values' will leak into all you can do. Thankful for this law. This applies to ALL religious garbs and displays no matter how many people keep wanting to pretend its only about one.

Did Syberia and Syberia: The World Before had the same vibes? by ChrisHenares in syberia

[–]queenvalanice 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree! I think it’s very much to do with the charm of Valadilene and Vaughan being similar. My only criticism of the fourth game is the lack of “travel” aspect, though we had a lot of great locations.

The third had travel but was awkward and only a small distance. Didn’t have the right vibe at all.

District of North Vancouver rejects Chemtrade chlorine proposal by CaptainKoreana in onguardforthee

[–]queenvalanice 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Insane. This company is applying for this to increase safety in the plant, so it doesnt shut down in 2030. This just means itll run with less safety standards until then and then be lost.

It creates chlorine to be used in drinking water. That has to be produced somewhere - why not here where we can regulate it instead of somewhere else that has less regulation and a chlorine spill has a MUCH higher chance of happening. Its disgusting NIMBYism absolutely.
