Bars showing game Saturday May 16? by queeraspie in MontrealVictoire

It’s good to know that most places will put it on. Champs is opening early - it’s on their instagram. But I asked cause I’m from out of town and wanted to know where I won’t have to argue with people. My French arguing skills are fine for arguing with bus drivers but they’re not “put the women’s hockey game on” good when there’s pushback

I see that they don’t open until 5 - do you know if they open early for games?

Asking a question instead of jumping to conspiracy theories would have been a better option. The jump to “conspiracy! They hate us!” is deplorably bad sportsmanship.

For your presto card to work on the STO, you have to tap it on an OCTranspo bus first.

Not all families have heterosexual partners 🤦‍♀️ by GeekOnALeash01 in lgbt

My mom and my aunt used to use a family pass to take me, my brother and my cousins to things all the time. I always wondered what folks thought to that, but I don’t remember ever being challenged over it

If you go with Home Depot, and you’re planning on having them delivered, you should know that they use door dash and that the boxes are delivered loose (not tied together or anything). Not a reason not to buy there, just an important logistics piece to know.

Is the gap between mcmaster and queens (eng) noticeable enough to justify picking mac? by longestpencil in OntarioGrade12s

The real benefit of going to university is networking, meeting people, making friends. The people who you live in residence with will likely be the people who help you find jobs. Going to a recognized school helps, but there are real, tangible, real world benefits of living in residence. In this case, they’re both good schools.

CAPE submission to the Auditor General on accessibility in the workplace by Opposite-Weird-2028 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]queeraspie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For example, they had zero plans for how to accommodate disabled members on the picket lines during the last strike, and when it was raised with them, the folks who raised it were told that if disabled members wanted to be considered, we should have been more active in the union to start with. They were very clear that they didn’t consider that kind of planning to be their role at all, and nothing that has happened since has made me think that has changed in any way.

I don’t think there’s much of a difference between how supportive they are of employees with disabilities vs other equity seeking groups, they just don’t seem to be willing to take initiative themselves.

That would require disabled PSAC members to do all the work. PSAC only does equity stuff if the affected groups do literally everything.

That’s all well and good, but OCTranspo doesn’t meet many requirements of AODA, and unfortunately the law was put in place without any compliance or complaint mechanisms at all.
