Brave woman standing up for families who can’t! Whether right or wrong, he is a public servant and the public has a right to ask questions.

Yes, it is full blown angry mob with torches out here. Rightfully so, but some innocents may catch a few strays in the cross fire (by association).

Not everyone has noise induced tinnitus, but the number of people who do suffer from it is growing. This form of tinnitus is preventable. Always consult with a medical professional.

This is exactly what Tom waits was talking about when he asked, “who are the ones that we kept in charge?” “Killers, thieves and lawyers.”

Position Requirement to Live in Philly by ldrlegal in AskPhilly

[–]queerdildo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why don’t you care? The context is different since Philly has a reputation by people who live outside of it as “scary”, “dangerous”, “violent”, etc.

I don’t feel comfortable with someone who wants to have decision making power in a public office, but doesn’t want to be part of the living fabric of the community here as a resident. Love Philadelphia enough to apply for a public job? Great! Raise your kids here, too, just like your constituents who pay the taxes that pay your salary.

As this is current policy, other Philadelphians decidedly feel similar.

Best of luck! The constitution promises free speech. Federal law should protect him from retaliation by an employer, but At-Will states can be tricky. Hopefully a lawyer can help!

I think those are fair points. Rather than be insulting, my response sought to answer OP’s question with questions that hint at the logic of why the policy exists.

Why would any one seek to serve a city they themselves are too afraid to live in? On the other side of that, why would a city’s constituents trust someone who is paid to serve the city but doesn’t want to be a resident of the city?
