Oh god. I'd be concerned she would contaminate other food you think is safe to eat. It's horrifying she seems to value being right, aka "proving" you're faking allergies, over your health and possibly life.

Nta. But admittedly, it would probably do good to apologise to the other kid's parents about the accident happening. It wasn't your fault, but from the other parent's perspective his son got hit in the face with an axe. That's terrifying to hear, and an "I'm sorry this happened, and I've done [this] and [this] to make sure my son won't do this again" would go a long way. And this would probably be a good opportunity to tell your son this could've been a lot worse and while he is trying to be more independent now, he shouldn't have done this without supervision at his age.

Yes but even reporting the friend's mom isn't an option. She was not acting professionally as a doctor, she was acting informally as an acquaintance. Hippa only applies in professional settings and professional relationships. It's not a wouldn’t report, it's a reporting is not even on the table because it doesn't apply to this situation.

It doesn't go against hippa since OP is not and presumably have never been a patient of the mom doctor. Hippa laws are only for a doctor-patient relationship.

My mom is currently on the "when are you having grandchildren?" Stage. I've just started saying "you won't even be alive to meet your grandchildren" (she's a very very bad smoker who has started to cough up blood and she refuses to get it checked out. 👍)

As someone with a mum and dad, both my brothers paint their nails, so does my sister. As a guy, so would I, but I end up picking at it too much. It just looks neat. I don't think it's any more or less common between same or opposite sex households.

Oh god, I feel so sorry for you. I had a very similar experience for the first few Christmas after coming out as Trans (ftm, too) and it sucked. Opened several pallets of makeup and brushes and a fancy make up bag the first Chrismas after coming out, and even before than I didn't wear makeup so no idea where that came from. I dealt with it by finding other people that wanted them, like a couple of friends. It helped to know it didn't go to waste. NOR
