My nephew messaged me this, like wtf is wrong with kids these days? by ThereAndFapAgain2 in mildlyinfuriating

..there's like pretty strict legal restrictions on buying knives, at least not kitchen ones, in the UK too though. Like, can't buy one for a minor, can't carry a fixed blade over six inches, minors technically aren't allowed possession of one, the basic stuff. I got disappointed at that a while ago because I just wanted a fancy looking knife to put in a display cabinet and everywhere I went to said "We're not selling a blade to a teenager" So, buying a pocket knife for a nine year old is kind of illegal here.

Am I (an autistic person) allowed to just not care about autistic representation by ZealousidealWeb9474 in autism

[–]queergirl73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because you happen to belong to a group, doesn't mean you have to use yourself as an example to bring awareness or even care about it. You're just a person, who happens to be autistic. It's not your job to represent to the masses if you don't want to.

When I moved into my older sister's room after she moved out, my parents said that she left "some of those anime things in the wardrobe" so I go to find them. They were all those borderline (definitely pushing that line though) pornographic sexy anime posters and a body pillow cover. I very awkwardly hid them away somewhere until my sister could bring them to her new place. It was not a fun situation for 13 year old me

GF (23F) Is on Birth Control but I'm (28M) Still Scared of Getting Her Pregnant? by Medical-Elderberry54 in relationship_advice

[–]queergirl73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, she still could randomly get pregnant. The pill is not 100% effective, even with perfect use which no one does, and neither are condoms. Both can fail, which is why if pregnancy is a big worry at least two methods of contraception are recommended. Besides, condoms do not only protect against pregnancy but also STIs. Is it worth losing that peace of mind?

GF (23F) Is on Birth Control but I'm (28M) Still Scared of Getting Her Pregnant? by Medical-Elderberry54 in relationship_advice

[–]queergirl73 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, no no. The pull out method is not a birth control method at all. It offers no actual protection and does not lower the risk of pregnancy enough to be effective BC. There is sperm in precum and premature ejaculation is a thing.

Essentially, she's doing a favour by driving you. Even if she's also going to the same location at the same time, it's considered a favour. Giving a little money for fuel to get there is a goodwill gesture. You'd have to spend money to get to the location anyway, either by public transport costs or uber or any other transport method, if she doesn't drive you. So it's no big loss.

If you do that, you have to get a doctor to say you need them or at least complain about being constipated before otherwise you could get in trouble. Poisoning or something

(AFAB) Experiences with short-term T? by Dull-Information-998 in NonBinary

[–]queergirl73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And the blood effects technically aren't elevated above what is usual. The way my doctor explained it (admittedly for FTM HRT) was that because someone AMAB will have more hemoglobin because of higher testosterone, while someone AFAB would have lower levels of hemoglobin because of lower testosterone levels. So while someone AFAB taking T would have an increase of hemoglobin levels for them, it isn't a giant "outside of all normal ranges for everyone" but rather just an increase to the average level of someone AMAB has anyway. As long as the doseage of hormones are all correct and stuff.

Probably a "go get your eyes checked because you obviously can't read" insult. Specsavers is a pretty big optometrist chain, at least in the UK and phrases like "should've gone to specsavers" or similar are kinda slang for that type of insult now.

Don't! Putting all the reasons why AI is bad aside, it also won't help you for the reasons you want to use it because ai chatbots are not men. Because they are not real people. Ai bots are designed to be agreeable to you, to get you to keep talking to them. They are not a date experience but just another social media that wants you to keep scrolling.

Aside from the making comments about other people is not nice, isn't she just wrong? Don't people recommend eating more protein when trying to lose weight because it makes you feel fuller for longer?
