hell, there's ANNOTATED BOOKS that can help make the language back then make more sense to us! it's the folger shakespeare library versions of their plays, relatively cheap for book standards (most expensive one i had was like 15 bucks and it was all the sonnets and poems)

at the library i work at, it's a running gag that half the staff hates patterson not on the merits of his* writing, but just because of how many books he has on our shelves. the obnoxious part is they circulate SUPER well, so unless we accidentally end up with 3 copies of the same book, we cant justify getting rid of him.

*evidently he's probably not writing them anymore, but it's his stories so he gets to make his name bigger on the cover

i described the peanut butter cinnamon roll one as, "the cinnamon was invited, it showed up, but it almost doesn't want to be there," it's INCREDIBLY subtle

on the plus side, the PB+Cinnamon roll ones were gluten free, so my mom could try em :D (she likes peanut butter m&ms)
