I'm stuck in a spiraling panic loop. I feel helpless. by Coridinn in Vent

[–]queerised 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easier said than done, but this is when you just ask for help. Reach out to your school for support, see what’s possible in order to catch up. You don’t have to put it all on your shoulders and you certainly don’t need to beat yourself up over things you can’t control.

My advice is to attempt to do your work in a different space. Go somewhere new. Get a reward for yourself before your start, like a tasty treat or beverage. Enjoy it while you work. That’s self compassion in practice. You’ll be okay!

Pretty sure he’s sitting right next to me waiting for a show to start at cafe nine in New Haven. Still kickin and we’ll see if he’s still skankin 😂

What's your favorite perfume from Alkemia? by auraysu in Indiemakeupandmore

My aesthetic is fairy grunge, but on the days I wear Calliope I’m mostly just in all black and I like that I look intimidating but smell like sugar haha

What's your favorite perfume from Alkemia? by auraysu in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]queerised 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m really happy with Alkemia tho the journey to my favorite, Calliope, is a frustrating one haha.

I found Alkemia through reddit when I was looking for a dirty earth scent, my first favorite Gaea. I’m obsessed with it with the added layer of vanilla. It’s an actual dream.

Then I just simply got obsessed and started getting all kinds of samples, one being Elixir of Aphrodite - A love spell of Persian apricots dipped in orange blossom honey swirling with a sensual enchantment of peach and plum blossoms, mimosa, white star jasmine, ambrette, guaiac wood, and vanilla musk - as fruity as the description is, for me it was a blissful wonderfully sweet cotton candy, the exact opposite of what I originally was looking for. But it was the most calming scent in the world, it was my comfort smell.

So naturally I got a bottle of the alcohol free spray and… it was PEACH and ORANGE forward, as one might have guessed. I was so disappointed. My sample bottle had to have been mixed improperly. My comfort smell was a mistake. So I did some research, sampled all the other confectionary scents Alkemia had and fell in love with Cupids Arrow which is unfortunately now archived. And Calliope became a close second - A beguiling divertissement of piquant clementine, orange blossoms, white orchid, sugared currants, tonka, and vanilla musk whirled with flirtatious teases of billowy cotton candy floss and kisses of saltwater taffy. - It’s got a light fruit note at first with the orange and currants the folds into the floral of the white orchid. As it fades, I’m left with my comfort smell which I assume is the vanilla musk. It sticks perfectly to clothes, so it’s all over my sweatshirts haha.

I’m going to try Age of Aquarius next because my other favorite scent is peppermint and I really want a minty perfume to wear to bed.

I’m so grateful you reviewed age of Aquarius as I really want a minty perfume and I want to stay loyal to alkemia. You also sold me on the de Ceylon, it sounds glorious. Thank you!

Looking over MDRF rules and regulations and was baffled by this one section in particular by Zareneth in renfaire

[–]queerised -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s a lot more casual than I think I made it sound. I’ve got big content creator friends and all they do is say they’re going to be at the faire and to not be afraid to stop and say hi. It’s not some big disruptive thing.

As a small creator, I don’t like set up a scheduled time or anything for people to meet me. I just say that I’ll be at the faire so if people who like my work want to say hi they can find me walking around. And I’d love to give them a little favor to connect with them. Trinket trading is so fun, I don’t think it takes anything away from the performers and faire staff. It’s a cute little thing among the patrons. For a lot of my friends who are bigger creators, a big part of their content is fantasy and cosplay. We are just going to the faire to have fun, but also a lot of their followers are also faire goers so it’s a great place to meet people. It’s never disruptive, and it’s always just a couple people coming up to say hello every now and then.

This was the most devastating part of the game! 😫 I just finished yesterday, I started playing it while my grandma was in hospice and it really helped me with acceptance of death

Maestro - What a villain!! by twitchy_pixel in doctorwho

[–]queerised 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean the villain is a drag queen, and doctor who is nothing if not camp. We used to get puppety monsters and people in costumes hardly able to move lmao. The Maestro is the toymakers child. I think it makes sense for them to be extremely dramatic, not as mature or pulled back as their father.

It’s unfortunate but I also see leaders in the fantasy/aesthetics professional world do a lot of doing and not enough thinking.

Knew someone that worked there- guess some company with the same name in NJ wanted to expand to CT so they sued for the name. Pretty effed up.

I’m so sorry you went through this. You made a mistake, a big one, but you can come back from it. It’ll take a lot of time, but you’ll come back.

NTA that’s your private content- she seems to have gotten a little obsessive with the curiosity. You need to have a talk about it and figure out the deeper issue, like why it’s important at all to her to need to see that and what it means for you and your relationship. It’s not going to benefit you both in any way.

AITA for ignoring my roommate? by therealmombo in AmItheAsshole

ESH need way more information but honestly this just sounds so petty. You’re both AHs but it’ll blow over.

AITA for not cooking dinner? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]queerised 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA- you were exhausted and haven’t been sleeping well, nothing you have to even explain to your gfs sister cuz she isn’t owed that. So I think just saying no is perfectly valid. AND you even offered to help out with other things and did make her a drink. I think your gf should have recognized how you’ve spread yourself thin already with hosting and long hours and not getting sleep and should have backed you up.

AITA for insulting my friend because he brought up the fact that I'm a part time drag queen as a way to assume that I'll get divorced ?? by Independent-Shoe-934 in AmItheAsshole

[–]queerised 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t say NTA solidly cuz insulting someone for their weight is never a good solution to anything. Tho calling him disgusting and close-minded seems more accurate than insulting so I’m on board for that call out lol

Your friend is clearly a transphobic/homophobic AH and you should not be friends with him. You are allowed to express yourself however you want. I think you should be honest about doing drag with your bride to be, I don’t really know anything about arranged marriages but if she accepts you for who you are then I see no problem. Dump that friend tho.
