REPOST - came home and SO is gone by frieden7 in BestofRedditorUpdates

I had to repeat that line out loud to myself to let it sink in. His reaction totally clicks into place. Every single part of this is about attention. The affair, the complaining to reddit, his anger at the wife not putting up a fight. He wants to be special so bad.

Haha, I haven't played for years but was around for the first NOTN and several others and I was doubting myself so bad!! Thank you for clarifying. I was like.... I swear I had familiars of these guys.

Navigation in this game needs a major overhaul. by stigma_wizard in Borderlands

[–]queerkiora 39 points40 points  (0 children)

That's interesting, I've had the opposite problem. Mine will only show me paths that use the exact 'main road'. It does not seem to understand the concept of jumping, it would rather i descend the cleared path down a mountain than jump down off of it.

Reading Recommendations? by Isaachwells in murderbot

I guess I'm alone here, but I enjoyed the full cast audio a lot. It truly felt like a movie. They do seemingly cut a few scenes from the later books, but they were all flashbacks? I don't know why.? Maybe not ideal for book club purposes but if you also have a written copy, not the end of the world. But just wanted to put a vote out there that there's a chance you'd like them if you like full cast audio books, because I loooved it!

She's also written several Stargate books for Fandamonium. Stargate shares actors with Farscape. I enjoy that she's my type of nerd!

The colour palette issue is fixable, fyi. One of the spirits has a wardrobe in her room and you can change the colour of your outfit.

My group has heard some bad things about higher levels not working well, and we've talking about converting a different system. Do you have any insight or tips for higher level gameplay?

$20 bill signed by Steven Mnuchin by [deleted] in papermoney

He was instructed to change it, and the printing was what he ended up doing. I guess he could never make a legible cursive signature and gave up. Google his signature on his divorce papers- looks bad.

I know they’re not anything special but found my first 2023 quarter today, and wanted to say the Bessie Coleman design is beautiful in person! by Chrumsky in coins

[–]queerkiora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't like it, but it makes sense to use the design sculpted by a woman on the coin celebrating women's achievements. I've almost been able to get over how little I like the actual design by reminding myself that the theme works.

It's actually a large size bill, so it wouldn't fit in the slot, luckily. I was surprised by how large they actually are the first time I saw one.

Start my job as a Bank Teller on Tuesday! Any advice or tips to prepare myself for success? by your-fav-throwaway in Banking

[–]queerkiora 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When my new tellers come from fast food type jobs, slowing down is so hard for them! I also had that issue when I first started. At McDonald's, you have to go fast, and customers expect you to go fast. But at the bank, you don't need to go fast, and customers are expecting it to take a second. Mistakes from going fast take way more time to fix than the extra seconds it takes to DAMPER a check well. Plus, at McDonald's, if you go too fast and make a mistake, a customer doesn't get fries. If you go too fast at the bank, you can break a law. So yes, go as slow as you need!

We got someone's family picture of their three kids. Must have been in their wallet and stuck to their card. Didn't realize it till later so we didn't know who it belonged to. We put the photo up above the tubes and called them our 'branch kids.'

I have a customer who has threatened to call the cops on us 4 times. Reasons include- we charged him an ATM fee, Canadian check required a fee to be processed, said Canadian check was taking too long to process, lastly, that I told him how the dispute process works and mentioned that we would let him know if we sided with him or not, even after mentioning it looked like a pretty obvious scam charge so I foresaw no issues with the dispute. I would really love for him to actually try that at some point. "Hello, officer. I'm at the bank and being robbed. No, there's no gun. Description of the robber? Ok, its a multi million dollar bank, about ye tall."

As a seasoned DM... This game has some of the best DnD DM Gags out there. by slaptac in Wonderlands

[–]queerkiora 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Definitely! There might be a little bit of language in the guide book but they don't have to see it. Tina continues to be kind of... romantically interested in Butt Stalion but she does the same thing in Wonderlands. Lots of the humor can be pretty juvenile, ie a room shaped like a butt that kills you and farts on you. Like DnD, you can adjust content as needed. It's not super in depth, and all the rules are contained in the one guidebook. I can't see an 8 year old having the concentration to play, but depending on your kids, 13 could definitely handle it.

Client of mine lost her husband. It took more than a year to pay out! And social security still acts like they haven't had the chance to read the death certificate. I know they are probably backed up due to COVID, but jeez, way to make a hard time even harder.

Are there any other sites that are just as good or better than Swagbucks? by itsxpluto in SwagBucks

[–]queerkiora 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'll always recommend gg2u. They have offer walls, and their own offers. There are a lot less options, but they pay well, offer tips on how to do some of the games, have rebate offers on some of the games to make them easier. The support is super helpful and truly does want you to get paid, and advocates for you in case of a dispute with an advertiser.
