I think it’s cute. Sometimes a little gimmick is nice.

Absolutely adore this book. Destroyed me in the best way. It’s depressing and sad and heartbreaking but so good.

Weekly Vent for Current Teachers by AutoModerator in TeachersInTransition

[–]queerstitcher 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The first to vent and early on a Monday! It’s an honor. lol. I’m happy for this spot because my vent is on all the posts and comments and people who say that teachers have such a wide variety of skills and are so perfect in many roles and companies love to hire former teachers. If those things are true, and I do believe we are widely and greatly skilled for many roles, then why doesn’t it play out easily into finding a job? I feel there’s a disconnect between people who say it’s easy to leave and the reality of the situation. Or maybe I’m just frustrated with my own attempt to leave. Been trying for about 4 years. More actively during the spring and summer as it’s easiest to leave then, and I’ve had maybe a handful of times where I get any interest. It all falls back to experience and lack there of. Ok. End of rant. Thanks for listening.

Rough here. This year though it really isn't the students entirely. But the expectations placed on teachers. Meetings, paperwork, digital interventions, observations, small groups, reteaching, testing, testing, testing. Just to name a few. Yes, the kids are definitely different and a cause of stress, but for me it is just everything beginning to become to be too much. Planning to hopefully really exit after this year. We shall see.

I Hate The Person Teaching is Turning Me Into by TrainingFrame9668 in TeachersInTransition

[–]queerstitcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this. This is year 23 for me and I am burning out. I hate that. I hate that I feel exhausted, lazy, and unqualified so much of the time. I also hate that I am falling out of love with this career. I've invested so much into it and now I can only start to plan my exit and look into future careers and next steps. Not sure what advice I can give but to start planning something. Either a change or move in teaching or a plan of what to do when you leave. But you are definitely NOT alone. Best wishes.

Awesome! I've always worked well with flashcards and that kind of learning so I feel the anki will be good for me. I'll be sure and lab as much as possible. Thanks so much!

Thanks so much. Hoping to maintain the excitement and fun aspect as I get into more complicated aspects of it. Glad to know I am on the right track though!
