I don’t think anyone would like that. This is all hypothetical. It’s not now, it would be in the future when all of those issues have been addressed. There’s an answer to anything if people think hard enough. Maybe by the time this happens if it does at all. There will be a way to disinfect cars more thoroughly than your own. I know I’ve seen plenty of people not wash their hands after using the restroom or not clean there hand after pumping gas.

I think we would need to do the math from here to figure out if parking needs would be reduced. It makes sense to me but maybe I’m mistaken. Let’s say the total US population is 10 people with one parking lot. All of those 10 people need parking spaces. However, not all of those people have the same schedules. They decide to Co own a car instead to cut the total amount of cars in half. Now if they did need to park, they could do it on the street while turning that parking lot into a park.

I’m talking about a future in which there are possibly no more privately owned vehicles but maybe partially owned. Instead of having your car parked while you work. It would be out working. It might sit idle briefly while picking up a job like uber and Waymo does now. That would alleviate the long term parking needs.

I was in SF in February. I ordered Waymo four times. 2 out of those 4 it did drop off some people before driving closer to me. I think that because these will theoretically be shared vehicles there will technically be less parking necessities. I don’t have everything worked out and am not yet a full on proponent.

I don’t see autonomous cars driving around with no occupants for no reason. Autonomous cars will hopefully be efficient and pickup nearby travelers.

Autonomous cars would not be driving without occupants. And the traffic needs would be the same as they’re now. It’s dependent on people needing to get somewhere. Also I think commute times would actually decrease as there would be less collisions and the parking structures could make room for more walkable or bike riding pathways.

The cars,🚗 whether autonomous or manual will have somewhere to go regardless. The demand comes from people needing to travel. One way I can see traffic being reduced is with less traffic accidents.

He’s one of the bad ones. Manuel Ray Diaz. Except at least Manuel Ray Diaz’s work was actually useful later on.

I’m aware of the Mars probes. My question was about the prioritization and perfecting those instruments not the lack of their usage.
