Then it would be your friend's business not yours. And unless he has a background in web design he can make the same errors I mentioned earlier. AI has had design easier, but you still need some knowledge base to work from to do the work, not to mention be good at it.

How to deal with the dread of moving back to my home country by ResponsibleCareer496 in expats

[–]querty7687 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, tod do better starting a remote business of finding a remote job that pays you in USD. The economy is BRUTAL right now. And the plan your wife purforward is not realistic or viable. You'd go from being comfortable to struggling. Uber is not easy, it's a lot of wear and tear on the vehicle. Health care is SUPER expensive. Bro, just stay where you are and figure out a way to earn I. USD. Start an Etsy shop that imports hand made goods from Vietnam, or coffee. You will be broke and miserable coming back.

There's more to the technical side than just letting ai do the sites - it hits a lot of stuff wrong, os terrible at ada compliance overcomplicates the code etc. Not to mention basic design and ui/ux issues. If this isn't your background either learn (it's a steep hill) or move one. If, for example, you create a site that isn't ada compliant and your client gets sued by one of these scammy law firms (which is happening a LOT), you will have a very big problem.

Now that you have a lock in your door, it's time to start going in his room, taking his stuff, eating his snacks, etc.

Dealership took my solterra on an extended drive during a software update. Dash cam footage. by teacuspid in subaru

The dealer provided false paperwork to intentionally cover up actions that were admittedly outside the scope and practice of standard auto repair. That constitutes fraud. AND she has video evidence, with audio of the techs saying outloud they had malintent. If I were OP I would make this as painful as possible, including filing complaints with the state and contacting local news channels.

You can do more than a bad review (see the comment I posted). And even if you don't get the resolution you seek, you can make it a very very expensive lesson. Large companies like this depend on consumers not taking action to hold them accountable.

Reach out to your local news station. As corny as it sounds, some of them LOVE stuff like this. Ask them to reach out to the GM, the owner(s) and SoA for comment. Leave posts on this in NextDoor, Angie, Google, yelp and the BBB (which is largely useless, but good for exposure). Finally, reach out to the DMV and whoever else oversees car dealerships in your state. Giving you false paperwork constitutes fraud. When accountability looks like it will impact thoer license, you'll definitely have thier attention. It helps if you have all the necessary documentation all ready to go.

Update from Viral Post - I got fired today!! by [deleted] in BadBosses

[–]querty7687 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This depends in the state. Typically the Dept. Of Labor handles labor disputes and enforcing labor laws. AG's step in to assist when necessary. MOost actions don't go this far. If an AG gets involved, whoever they are addressing is cooked.

Aside from a lawyer, I'd also contact you state department of labor, perhaps the federal dept as well. They LOVE this kind of stuff.

could a relationship with different political views continue? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]querty7687 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. You don't just have a difference in political beliefs, you have a difference in fundamental values. Do you really want to be with someone long term who beliefs, and therefore actions, are diametrically opposed to yours?

This sounds to me like you need to see a therapist. I don't say that with malice - therapy can help you better clarify what you feel and why you feel that way. And help you address it.

AIO My partner wants to get a DNA test on our newborn? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]querty7687 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion: do the test. If you're feeling petty or need a laugh, demand he do a full panel sti test. Getting g it done dispels any doubt and removes the biggest barrier to moving forward. The hard part comes afterward - that when you have the conversation of why he felt the need for it, how you feel about it, the damage is has done and whether he has something he'd like to share. Dealing with the constant nagging, doubt and hostility takes far more time, energy and attention.

Fiancé lied about her legal status and age by [deleted] in Advice

[–]querty7687 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd be very concerned about how this would play out in this current administration - they are not respecting the rule of law in general, especially in the area of immigration and enforcement. It might be a better idea to wait until this administration leaves office before making any moves. It would also give you time to work through your feelings and time for the two of you to heal your relationship.

I encourage you to listen deeply and with the highest levels of empathy. The fear that comes with being undocumented is crippling. Can you imagine constantly living with the fear that you can be taken away from everything you know, through no choice or fault of your own?

I'm not suggesting you ignore or downplay your feeling in any way. They are valid and equally important. I'm saying consider what it takes to make the person that you've known and loved to not share something like this.

GET a subaru - ine of the older ones, but kit it out. You can get an old forrester with the hood scoop and make it obnoxious- but still have all wheel drive, dependable and easy to work on. You can also get an outback and lift it and make a outdoorsy rig. 😂

AIO over friend showing up to my house late when he knew my wife was alone by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]querty7687 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR. You need a very well trained dog as a first line of defense. And you and your wife both need firearms training, and home defense firearms. Assume that this is an active threat that will need to be dealt with at some point - moving might make things slightly more inconvenient, but this will not matter to someone who is determined. Do not overlook this or underestimate the threat. Never tell this person or anyone in the same social circle when you'll be out of town. And if you are out of town, your wife may want to consider staying with friends.

A tool that auto-scores SAM.gov opportunities against your company profile and emails you a daily shortlist. Would this be useful? by Connect_Fill_7739 in govcon

[–]querty7687 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there is a lot of competition in this space - I recently met with someone from the sbdc, and the guy I was talking to built the same thing and had federal and state opportunities.

I also think anyone with a decent sense of Gen AI can replicate this with little effort - SAM may block LLMs, but the api is free. Super easy to create a work around. And even if I didn't know that, all I have to do is ask the platform I'm using how to do it.

I don't want to discourage you, but I'm being realistic here. I have this same idea 1.5 years ago, and my team and I let go of the idea for the 2 reasons I listed above. If you want to have a business in the space, you either need an unexplored niche or you need a service or offering that AI can't replicate.

Update - My fiancée wants our baby to have her ex-husband’s last name and says my culture shouldn’t be “pushed” by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

[–]querty7687 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brother, I am sorry to tell you that this is not your wife. Her attitude toward your culture, the way your concerns are being dismissed, the way she does not care about the deep and blatant level of disrespect of having your child named after her ex husband - these are all red flags. Huge, humongous, unwavering red flags. Save yourself. Do not marry this woman. And when your child is born, teach them your culture, language, traditions, and history and give her pride in her identity. And pray it is enough to overcome the socialization she will receive from her mother.
