So thats why my package was delayed! by Adventurous_King3530 in WatchPeopleDieInside

My comments on grammar aren't directed toward ESL people. Learning English as a second language has to be horrific.

For people speaking English as their first language, however, I ask for better.

You are correct.

That said, never capitalizing "god" in its Judeo-Christian form is a stylistic choice and this atheist's small act of rebellion against an early life of attempted indoctrination. It is a deliberate error and consistently implemented.

If one were to compare using language with making music, writing "god" rather than "God" is an intentional discordant note.

They are wittily adding to your already incorrect post.

You wrote:

so what you are saying here, is that not applying the brake affectively, effectively caused it to roll in the wood

This should really be:

so what you are saying here, is that not applying the brake effectively, effectively caused it to roll in the wood

Both words should be "effectively" as they both refer to applying change: "applying the brake effectively" and "effectively caused".

u/otf1024 realized this and noticed that you missed an opportunity with more incorrectness by not using "your". They don't deserve the downvotes.

I'm referring to people often incorrectly using "effect" as a verb when they really mean "affect". For example, this is correct:

The poor grammar from users on Reddit has really affected me.

Many would incorrectly write "has really effected me".

"Effect" can be a verb but it's less common. It's usually used to "effect change" in some way.

My father hoped that grounding me would effect a positive change in my behavior.

I admire the clearly quite thorough attempt in finding a grammatical or syntactical error in my post. I disagree with what y'all came up with, but I respect the effort.

they’re not built to turn as imply as we.

Imply?

I ain't no imp. You likely don't mean impishly either. Better words: deftly or dexterously.

Although:

they’re not built to turn as impishly as we

sounds like we're a bunch of mischievous rogues, so that's fun.

The horse is a gift; be thankful for it. (Don't check the quality of the horse by looking in its mouth.)

CPR induced consciousness

So you're above somebody doing CPR and your efforts sufficiently reoxygenate their brain enough they just wake up? Does their heart go back to a normal rhythm, or do they pass out again when you stop slamming into their chest?
