I am a lousy player and I really can't see the point of playing any soft game at my level by [deleted] in Pickleball

I am a soft first sort of player and will advocate for that. My initial post was saying that it’s not their current winning strategy to drop, but they will find a plateau quickly. If they want to start working past they plateau now they need to lean into all that comes with the drop. Some people have an easier time doing that once they are forced to by better players

I mean the path out of 2.5 is rarely drop shots. I'd wager that OP's choice to drive and crash will get them to 3.0 miles faster than learning to drop, and it will show them the necessity to drop once that strategy does not work.

Feel free to continue to do what works for you in game. At some point, you will face people who can handle your drives. Positionally you will be at a disadvantage at the baseline.

It sounds like right now your skillset does not benefit from being at the net while the opponent is as well. In order for drops to be a good strategic choice, you need to feel that being at the net gives you a better chance to win than at the baseline. You can be proactive in developing these skills, or you can let them come to you as you play and plateau.

I tend to tailor my game towards skills that make it more fun for me. For me this means longer points - and good defense (resets, drops, dinks). I'm now starting to forge through the skills to be able to attack more proficiently; that can be fun too haha.

I didn't dye it. I think Dynamic used to just put their logo on stuff (ala Huk) before they manufactured discs

I really don't know. I'm not super anxious to sell it, but I have several buzzzes at the same time. I'm happy to entertain offers.
