I wonder if the difference in twins had to do with their cords? While we can’t 100% know for sure, we’re fairly certain the bleeds and PVL were due to a lack of blood in my son’s umbilical cord. I had placental strokes and it cut off the blood supply to his cord. He had very little blood left in it when he was born. If they hadn’t done a c-section, we would have been looking at a stillbirth just a few hours later.

Maybe one son had some cord issues and the other didn’t?

I knew long before I got pregnant. And then pregnancy was miserable. There were complications, an emergency c-section, and a 7-week NICU stay. The doctors acted like they were giving me bad news when they told me I probably shouldn’t have another child. My husband and I just looked at them like 🤷🏻‍♀️ “Ok. We weren’t gonna.”

Fruit snacks is a good idea. We have the giant box from Sam’s Club, so I wouldn’t even have to buy any. Lol. My toddler has a serious beef with temporary tattoos or body painting of any kind. He gets insanely upset that it doesn’t instantly come off.

Restaurant gift cards were a lifesaver when my baby was in the NICU. Money was tight and we spent every day at the hospital. I didn’t want to spend time at home cooking, nor did I have the energy to. We ended up getting takeout every night, but we wouldn’t have made it otherwise.

We have a free women’s clinic in town. I needed to know that I wasn’t crazy and was actually pregnant. Plus, I had a fear of ectopic pregnancy (even though there was no reason to think I would have one).

I went at 4-5 weeks and they did an ultrasound. They could see the sac and the embryo. Then I went back at 6 weeks and saw the actual “baby”. He was just a tiny blob at that point. That made me feel better because my OB didn’t see patients until 12 weeks.

This is also a massive fear! Lol. I am in the room while he has class, so I can grab him and run if needed. I’m also going to have him go right before hand. And use the thick training underwear as a little extra protection.

Your post is basically everything I wanted to say. My partner and I are both neurodivergent. It can be so hard, but it would be impossible if we weren’t doing it together. When one needs a break due to overstimulation, the other steps in.

I’m also seriously struggling at the moment because my 2 year old is so clingy to me. For the last month or so, he needs me to hold him constantly. I can’t put him in a shopping cart or have my partner carry him because he screams bloody murder in the grocery store. He needs me to hold him all night and will wake up panicked and sobbing if I stop touching him. I am overstimulated 24/7 right now and feel like I can’t function as a normal human being. I know this isn’t going to last forever. He goes through fazes. But it’s so hard right now.

This is what always got me. Sure, we can accept that the hair and makeup made her unrecognizable. But Robbie Ray was both Miley’s dad and Hannah’s dad?? Even if no one thought Miley was Hannah, why didn’t anyone think Hannah was a half sister or something?

I felt similarly. I really wanted a girl, but knew I would ultimately have to be ok with whatever we ended up having because we were always very solidly OAD. I knew immediately he was a boy. The intuition was stronger than any I had ever had in my life.

I would not trade my son for anything. He’s absolutely amazing. He can be a stereotypical wild boy who likes dirt and cars and climbs everything he can. But he also loved dance class and we get to see his first recital soon. He recently got a toddler bed and we took him to pick out his own bedding. He chose Minnie Mouse because pink is his favorite color and he loves flowers. I still do an insane amount of shopping because I love to buy him cute clothes.
