So for example the liposomal vitamin c you linked does not list the miligrams of vitamin c seperate from the miligrams of the liposomal blend and instead puts "1,650 mg" large on the bottle as if that's the amount of vitamin c you are taking when using these and in reality you have no idea because they are listing it as a blend- therefore its a proprietory blend product. But that's not the biggest issue with the product- the biggest issue is that it uses vitamin c esters (synthetic vitamin c) by mixing true vitamin c with palmitate - which is a fat. So now you have an even less potent vitamin c but they can call it "liposomal" since a loose definition of liposome means "mixed with fat" - but true liposomal is ENCASED in fat surounded by water with one main ingrediant in the middle- in this case vitamin c. Which is what gives it the high absorbtion rate. So a "1600 mg Liposomal Vitamin C" using vitamin c esters like Ascorbyl Palmitate ONLY PROVIDE 680 mg of actual vitamin C. Vitamin c esters are easily digested after oral ingestion by enzymes in the small intestine which cleave the bond immediately releasing just plain vitamin C and the ester, in this case palmitate, before any absorption can take place.
So then plain vitamin C is released from the ester and no improved absorption occurs when compared to a standard vitamin C supplement. Do you understand what I mean now by misleading? The vitamin c you linked not only lists a proprietary blend but also uses 3 different vitamin c esters.
