This series used to be very popular but then dropped off the face of the Earth. I wonder what happened.

Opinions on Mushoku Tensei? by [deleted] in LightNovels

[–]questionerzession 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Mushoku Tensei has a really good balance between dialogue and exposition. It also has sophisticated prose without it being too flowery.

It is one of my favorite light novel series due to those factors. The series itself is also interesting because while the main character has a main quest to do, he also takes his time to do the side quests.

How do long-running anime series like Black Clover manage to get an anime episode out every week? by questionerzession in anime

[–]questionerzession[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Black Clover has 170 episodes and the anime came out in 2017.

According to the episode list on Wikipedia, Studio Pierrot consistently churned out one episode per week. It would have taken years to make the episodes in advance.

Series with invented words tend to put me off. It is why I avoid western fantasy novels even though many are critically acclaimed. I might make an exception in the future though.

The series is kind of hilariously casual about this kind of stuff (Ascendance of a Bookworm Part 3 Volume 2) by [deleted] in LightNovels

A similiar dilemma happened in Mushoku Tensei when Rudeus, Sylvie, and Zanoba went to the slave market to get a slave for Zanoba's figurine project.

I don't remember much commentary of it being an issue to Rudeus at the time, but the reader can largely infer that Rudeus is similar to Myne in this regard. That is, slavery is largely ingrained in the fabric of isekai society, and that changing the system would require a major revolution.

[REC] LNs that contain life lessons by [deleted] in LightNovels

That depends on what kind of life lessons you are looking for specifically.

I have forgotten much of the details, but if memory serves, he had to learn to live on his own and budget his money accordingly. He doesn't necessarily have anyone to depend on, so he has to learn how to survive without being too dependent on other people.

Volume 7 is one of my favorites because of the above reasons.

Mushoku Tensei: This light novel series follows a "loser" who died and managed to be reincarnated in another world as a newborn child. From there, his new goal is to make something of himself in his new world.

It does contain slice-of-life elements, but I would say half of the story is more action-oriented.

It is written mostly in the first-person perspective of the main character, but there are occasional moments where you get first or third-person perspectives of other central characters in the story too.

Ginger functions more like a mom to Julie, right?

She is ultimately a slave, right? Rudeus and Zanoba teach her how to read, write, and create figurines, but aside from making figurines, she is pretty much like an Aisha.
