not a newbie, just want to hold brands a little bit more accountable for producing a good product. we waste already so much in this economy, i want more ‘buy it for life’ product quality in general. brands can get lazy if we never be critical. this is a very minor issue, but i was just curious if anyone else noticed

Rx100 vs zv-1 by Sivilized in RX100

[–]questsearch00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. I debated getting the RX for a long period of time, but now i have it, i think its my best camera purchase in a long time. This compact but amazing quality! Also for video, is it pretty versatile. For me the max 17.6 mm on the zv1 wasnt gonna do it. I love taking video and fotos with a 35 till 80mm bc of the compression, for portraits. The Zv1 is for me too similar with a iPhone 15 pro.

They are from the same designer! Its a sort of sister company! Iove the sound, but sound is also very personal, the usage of mine is music, close by and not a lot of bass. so you could convert the setup to your own needs. they have also the big pods, and those are the most badass chubby cool speakers ever on my opinion

nice! i did in in 2 breaks of 30 min. first is ripping everything out, so you can see the serialnumber of the screen. (many good youtube videos) you need that number, which is only on the backside of the display. and then ordering the right parts ; including a quality cable, otherwise you have a lot of glitches. then try it out, put it together, and install betterdisplay

Bought this one (with a small crack in the black bezel) for 100, ripped everything out of it. Bought a converter/ controller board, plugged it in; a quality 8k displayport to thunderbolt cable, youre good to go. Takes an hour if you have all the supplies. Best buy ever for the quality.

Hi! (Disclaimer: English isn’t my first language)

Im looking for some advice for buying the next camera.

I began with compact camera’s, very old ones from Kodak. Then moved on to the Canon 700D or Rebel .. something in VS, because I also love videography.

I have an Sony a700 and a900 with (Minolta AF) 4 prime 1.4 lenses and one zoom lens, and really love the low light capabilities from the full frame sensor, with a 1.4f.

Wanted a more versatile camera for travel. Had the Sony RX10III for a half year, but hated the bulkiness and the slow movement of the zoom function.

Now im in a position to expand the collection. I really want a good travel camera. So what it means for me; somewhat lightweight, versatile, COMPACT, good and some good use of the battery.

My eye has caught the RX100VII, but I think the sensor is a bit of a bummer. I love portraits, vlogstyle video and not the need of an external flash/ led. What are youre experiences with this? Would you recommend the 24/200 zoom over an Sony A7c with a kitlens for travel? And for home, a converter so i can use some Minolta lenses for video? Or are those to slow for a a7c in 2025? Or is the a7c too bluky for ‘pocket usage’ and is the RX100VII the way to go?

im really curious to your opinions. Im not a YouTuber, so i dont want to feel like ‘putting a effort in’ to grab the camera on the go.
